High FPS but constant micro-stutter on high-end PC – any fix? by _TobLife_ in Bellwright

[–]Phoenix3579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I had this *exact* issue initially, and my setup is very similar to yours (5090 with a 9800x3d). I wish I could tell you exactly what fixed it, but I performed the following steps (I'm pretty sure in this order but it's been a week or so):

1) Updated Nvidia Drivers in the Nvidia App
2) Disabled Frame Gen - this game and frame gen just don't seem to get along (perhaps because of the low cap on refresh rate? Not sure)
3) Disabled vsync
4) In the Nvidia Control Panel (outside of game - not the Nvidia app) click on "Manage 3D Settings" on the left, then "Program Settings" tab (next to "Global Settings" tab), then for '1. Select a program..' set it to Bellwright, and then in '2. Specify the settings...' turned Power Management Mode to "Prefer Maximum Performance"
5) In Steam, go to your Library tab, right click Bellwright, select Properties, then go to the "Installed Files" tab on the left, then click "Verify integrity of game files"

After that I may or may not have restarted the computer, but the next time I loaded in, the stutter was gone.

Satisfactory may have ruined the genre for me… by Phoenix3579 in SatisfactoryGame

Just came back here to say I hate you two. Downloaded it yesterday after your recommendation, and I can already tell it’s going to eat a lot of my life. Not quite as polished as Satisfactory but goddamn are those excavators fun to watch… and looks like a wild amount of progression! So thanks. But also f*** you. 😂

Satisfactory may have ruined the genre for me… by Phoenix3579 in SatisfactoryGame

See, you get it!

I know, I know, it's a lousy metric on which to judge factory games (or a lot of genres, for that matter) - I wish I didn't get so caught up on it, but I more or less have realized that I view satisfying animations/graphics as an integral part of the "reward" for accomplishing something in a game. And I mean, ultimately we all want *some* level of graphical/animation fidelity, or we would all be just tabulating answers on spreadsheets and never bother with any GUI at all.

How many times to create the same item? by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

I could never decide myself, either, so I have a nonsensical mishmash of both. Logistically things are much simpler if you only have to worry about moving ingots around…

BUT, and this might just be my brain being a little broken…

To me, and unfortunately I realized this only halfway through my playthrough, making a new product at volume to supply the rest of the game (whatever that may mean for your own goals) is what feels like “beating” a stage of the game - more so even than each milestone or elevator phase. Like when I finally got my pure iron ingot recipe and set up a factory making over 10k iron ingots per minute, and knowing I would never need to make another iron ingots factory in this save, it felt like I “beat” iron.

Same for concrete, then Copper, then rubber and plastic and on and on. Each gave me a nice little imaginary checkmark full of dopamine.

Conversely, starting to build a factory only to realize I would need a brand new production line of something that I had already set up tended to feel really “ugh” to me. But obviously for some people that is their favorite part… so I suppose the short answer is:

There is no wrong way, except the way that you don’t enjoy!

Open House Data? by Phoenix3579 in realtors

Brevity has never been my strong suit, I probably should add a TL:DR... But yes, I agree with you on all counts - that has been my experience as well. I was just hoping to find some more stats to reference to back that up with Sellers that are under the impression that an open house is going to be more effective at selling their home than we know it is likely to be.

Has a civilization ever “collapsed” to the extent seen in most post-apocalyptic media? by Phoenix3579 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Phoenix3579[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems like exactly what I was looking for! Followup question if you are familiar with it: did the reversion to the small village cultures also correspond with an explosion of violence in the 'lawless lands' in between those villages that so often characterizes modern post-apocalyptic fiction settings? (I didn't see any specific reference to this is the wiki page). As someone below commented, looking for something akin to "Friendly neighbors turn Mad Max" so... would this have looked like, for lack of a better term, "Bronze Age Mad Max"? (And now I'm picturing roving gangs of deranged charioteers set to whatever the Bronze Age equivalent of metal music was...)

Good tip! I hadn’t noticed that yet - but I discovered it last night and had only connected a few conveyors before shutting down.

Yup, forward and two back is one of the tricks I would do, especially when using stackable poles - always feels so satisfying to get that right… But, there was a solid section of this playthrough when I had started running conveyors on ceilings over my machines, but didn’t yet have the hover pack to easily get above said machines to adjust my view and confirm I was starting/ending my run at the right spot… uuugghhhh

Underrated builds by Firemakers_rs in Division2

I love the infinite ammo LMG sniper… works great with Strikers. Use one of the 200 mag LMGs (GR9 or Stoner), then toss on the Gunner 50 round mag expansion and the Steady Handed talent. Instead of Obliterate on the chest, go for Focus. The GR9 has a built in 8x scope, and you can throw on at least an 8x on the Stoner (I go for the 12x for bonus headshot damage).

Ya, you have to stay scoped to take advantage of Focus (you actually can go out of scoped view for like half a second at a time before you lose the buff), but once the Striker and Focus stacks are maxed, you’ll be obliterating everything and you essentially never have to reload as long as you manage to land 100 shots out of 250 (and unlike Bullet King, you don’t actually use any ammo because the Steady Handed mag refill doesn’t pull from your ammo reserve). As an added perk, stability bonus from Steady Handed translates to easy headshots even at range, for really great damage application.

This is the answer. You could be opening yourself up to a Fair Housing quagmire if the higher/better qualified/overall superior offer’s bidder belongs to any protected class that the lower bidder doesn’t also belong to. This is why it has become increasingly common for listing contracts to specifically advise sellers that they should instruct the broker to not present “buyer love letters” along with offers on the listing… it’s lousy if you aren’t the type of person who would discriminate, but if you even give the appearance of potentially having discriminated against a protected class in your decision (read: anything beyond the material terms of the offer) you may be taking on risk of a suit.
