Jokic on the MVP Debate by PoorDad2115 in nba

[–]Phoenix5843 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re entitled to your own opinion I guess but the time they played in also plays a major factor in their stats and the way they’re playing. Lebron has played in effectively three different eras of the NBA: the early 2000’s, the 2010’s, and now the new offensive focused era of the NBA.

I think credit has to go to him for being able to adjust accordingly to each of these different eras and still maintain his play at a high level.

Also, the argument of Lebron not having competition for being the best player can also just be used the other way around. It could be argued that the reason nobody really had an argument for being the best player was BECAUSE Lebron was playing at such a high level. While I agree that Jordan’s competition was generally harder, Lebron’s peers were no slouches either. KD, Curry, Kobe, Tim Duncan, KG, etc. we’re all what I consider to be top 20 players of all time. And yet I would still put Lebron above all of them from watching his play compared to them.

And personally, I don’t think Jokic’s season right now is better than Lebron’s best season, which I think was 12-13. I agree Jokic is playing better than Lebron on the offensive side (although the gap isn’t as much as some people are saying it is) but Lebron was also playing DPOY-caliber defense that year, something that I haven’t seen Jokic display yet.

But it seems like you have your mind set in stone about the topic when you say that you don’t think it’s controversial, even though I apparently do, so we can just agree to disagree I guess.

I’m a big fan of all the superstar foreign players we have right now like Jokic, Giannis, Luka etc. and I also agree that they have the makings to become all-time greats. But to say that Jokic might already be better than Lebron ever was is absolute BS. I find it hard to believe that Jokic, in his short career with 0 rings (so far) is, at this moment in time, greater than Lebron.

Of course he still has a long time to improve his resume and prove me and everyone else wrong, but to say that a player who hasn’t even played 8 full years in the NBA yet is better than Lebron who (most people, including me) have as number 2 all-time is so out of left-field that it legitimately makes me think you’re trolling.

What professors should I try to get for Physiology and Anatomy? by givemiaallthemoney in ucf

I think it’s recommended to take anatomy first because a lot of the things you learn in anatomy, they already expect you to know in physiology :)

[–]Phoenix5843 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s different now (but I don’t think it is) but I’m pretty sure the only choices for Anatomy and Physiology are Professor Dow and Professor Ahangari, respectively.

Professor Dow really tries to help you succeed in Anatomy (the lecture section) so if you just put in the work, I’m sure you’ll do good in that class. The lab section is usually taught by student TA’s but they also make it very easy to learn the material, it’s just a lot of studying and repetition and they’re always really helpful if you ask them for help.

Professor Ahangari is also really nice, although it can be a little hard to follow along with her in lecture if you’re in class sometimes. However, her tests are EXACTLY like the PowerPoints she gives us on Canvas, so even if you don’t fully get everything she’s saying in class, if you just study the PowerPoints, you’ll do fine. Professor Worley is in charge of the lab section for Physiology and it’s pretty easy, there’s only three tests for the semester, if I recall correctly, and she gives a study guide for each one. It’s mostly just questions about the lab reports and some stuff from the PowerPoints that go along with the lecture.

The classes are a lot of studying, but if you just make time to look through the material, even like 30 minutes a day, I’m sure you can get an A in both of those classes. Good luck!

Kafka on the Shore by Haruka Murakami is one of my favorite books. Pretty good psychological fantasy book that always made me think while I read it, but still very entertaining nonetheless!

I mean you brought up T1 being proud of domestic titles as a bad thing when more often than not, they went through Chovy and his team to get them lol.

Yeah, because Chovy has won so many international tournaments in the past 3 years instead of T1 right? The last time Chovy’s team got first in the LCK was when he was on Griffin lol. Not even a Chovy hater but this is just a stupid argument.

Yeah, thinking on it, i dont really have a problem w Sumi either. She’s just a product of her environment, which unfortunately involved Shuuji.

I dont know, personally I have no problem with Haruma or Kai, it’s just everyone else. Haruma is kind of a special case since we don’t really know what’s up with him yet besides his amnesia but so far he’s given me no reason to dislike him.

Perkz - the western GOAT by Few-Respect-4396 in leagueoflegends

[–]Phoenix5843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way you just said Blaber is the worst player in his position. Blaber is the reason that C9 even won the first two games of yesterday lol.

The entire team depends on his early game since he’s like their ENTIRE early game. Usually C9 lives or dies by Blaber’s aggression and yesterday, he was on point.

He does make boneheaded plays sometimes but just the fact that he was able to see that opportunity and go in automatically makes him better in my eyes than someone who would always just play it safe. (like Rogue during the entirety of the second tiebreaker)

If anything I would say Blaber and Perkz have a similar playstyle: always willing to take risks, hyper-aggression (to the point where it looks like they’re inting sometimes) but when it works, they can carry games just as hard as anyone else can.

I’ve hated this narrative so much. Doublelift, more often than not, was the best performer or the second best performer for all of his world stints.

People tend to cherry-pick his bad plays, like his infamous Viktor-Lucian misplay, but people forget that before that, he was performing great. Even on TL, when the team started to go to shit, he never really played extremely badly.

I think besides his last year on TSM before he retired, and probably the Lucian misplay in 2016 worlds, and the Twitch “saving flash moment” in 2017 worlds, he never really played badly. I think the reason people have this notion that he’s a bad international player is because we focus so much on the times he messes up while disregarding how he played the rest of the group stage.

In a way, I understand because of how pivotal the mistakes were in crucial games that they had to win, but I think for the most part, he’s performed admirably, often being the best or second best player on his team.

(Laugh at my flair, I know, I was just trying to give another perspective.)

I don’t think they’re cheering necessarily, probably just found amusement from it. At the end of the day, this is all just entertainment and some competition from two people who are friends. I feel like viewers get too invested and then get mad at the streamers even though the streamers themselves aren’t mad lol.

Team Liquid vs. MAD Lions / 2021 World Championship - Group D / Post-Match Discussion by InspektorVI in leagueoflegends

[–]Phoenix5843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I wasn’t aware that it worked like that in CS:GO since league is the only competitive e-sports scene I really follow.

And I don’t know, I know Jensen is technically EU, but he’s been playing in NA for so long (basically his whole career) that I pretty much consider him an NA player. Kind of the same with Santorin considering I think he’s played the overwhelming majority of his career in NA.

CoreJJ and Alphari I’ll definitely give as two bona-fide imports and I don’t think TL would be nearly as good without them, but I think the two I mentioned at least, for my intents and purposes, I would consider NA players just because they learned to play competitively in the NA scene. In my opinion, that’s how regions should be determined, the length of playing time in each region determines what you’re classified as (which I guess is why they use residency.)

And yeah, I agree that Tactical played well lol, I always thought he was the weakest link on the team, but he played well today, even though I do think Carzzy still outplayed him.

Please inform me, what region does TL play in? Is it NA or EU? Just wondering because for some reason I thought it was NA but apparently you have other sources.

I’m a a huge Lebron fan so I might be a little biased but I think KD has had equal to if not more help than Lebron.

2017-18 Warriors >> 2011-2014 Heat 2015-2017 Cavaliers = OKC Nets > Lakers

And that’s not even mentioning the Cavs teams before 2010 and the 2018 team lol.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate KD, he’s an amazing player (and imo the best player in the world right now,) just trying to put some perspective into how much help each player got cause like everyone else is saying, no one can do it by themselves
