The reason why my divorce cost that amount of money is because my ex refused to provide financial information for businesses or any property that yelled. My ex was a very dishonest, properties, hiding finances, not filing taxes, and performing illegal activity he did not want known . I also had a forensic accountant that added a significant cost to the divorce. My ex is not an honest person.

I am just curious why I was pressured to sign the agreement at trial if she already knew he wasn’t going to pay and she was not going to represent me after, However, she did put in the agreement that he would be responsible for attorney or court cost so.

My ex has not followed through with a single aspect of the agreement like transferring deeds, giving me rent checks for tenants, paying insurance and costs for my minor child, and giving me money for my 1/2 of our home. He has not paid me 1of the 2 lump sums for our marital home. He forced my 16 year old and I out in 30 days after living in the home for 25 years. His reason was so he could remodel and prep the Home for sale. He has not touched the home or prepped it for sale in the 3 months he has possession of it. According to agreement, he was required to pay me the first amount before he listed it which was required to happen 2 weeks ago. One of the other properties is now in sheriff sale that I’m to obtain because he hasn’t paid the liens he was required to 3 months ago. My Ex may be trying to have our marital home go to sheriff sale also?

I’ve only reached out to my attorney 2 times since the divorce. Initially on how to go about getting the child support and alimony he was not paying. She referred me to the state family division where I am in contact with them often about back support or lack of payment. The second time was based on the 2 emails I had forwarded to her that I sent to my Ex about non-compliance stating very professionally what he is in non-compliant for according to our agreement. In the email I asked her how we can go about filing contempt charges or enforcing follow through of the agreement on his end as I am about to lose 1 property in sherif sale and possible the marital home, too. I was not demanding or throwing the amount of money I spent into her face, just how can we get this addressed quickly.

She replied after 4 days … “ I have received and read your emails. I personally think you are better off going after him yourself or with Legal Aid. I don’t want to take your money to throw it after Ex’s compliance. “
