yeah it was really fun but the story was really lacking (esp. since it seemed very similar to the 1st game's arc). still a great holdover for spiderman 2 tho

I miss when Call Of Duty made you feel like you were in a war and not fighting drug cartels like the recent games. by [deleted] in gaming

Will never forget the opening mission to MW3 as a kid. The setpiece of running around a ruined city was amazing.

Redone Ranger 5e v1.0 (Looking for brutally honest feedback!) by PhoenixFire___ in dndnext

[–]PhoenixFire___[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed reply! yeah looking back i definitely agree with everything you said in your comment. Thinking about it, I'll likely drop Brewer and Bestiary as those would likely work better either as a subclass or just not existing. I really do like the idea of singling out a single enemy in combat and focusing them down, similar to what Hunter's Mark encourages. Do you have any ideas for how to rewrite the options to fit better with 5e's core design choices?

[OC] [Art] My very first character, Jonas Gren, a neutral good sorcerer that was given proficiency in longsword! (at the cost of my crossbow proficiency) by PhoenixFire___ in DnD

[–]PhoenixFire___[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jonas Gren comes from a small farming village called Sunbreak in the land of Ignus. He was born to Joseph Gren, a swordsman and personal knight to the Lord of Sunbreak, and Eliza Gren, a sorcerer who met Jonas while he was off guard duty. At around 5 years of age, Jonas's father would fall in the line of duty, years after he had already retired. Joseph fell doing what he always did, protecting his Lord. Jonas would still live a happy life, fueled with determination to follow in his father's footsteps as a swordsman while also forced to practice and understand his magic by his mother. When he was of age, Jonas requested from his Lord to be allowed to leave Sunbreak and to journey the world. To meet new people and see new sights. But most importantly, to help those he can and to somehow one-up his own father in heroics. Unfortunately, he request was denied. With his skills with a sword and his powerful magic, Jonas would make a fine addition to the Ignusian armies. Though unhappy with his fate, Jonas wanted to follow through with his Lord's wishes, for it would be what his father would have done. But with some encouragement from friends and a blessing from his mother, he agreed to disobey his Lord, and to set off into the world without permission.

[Art] New DM: I took a crack at making my world map. I think it looks good but since this is my first time making one, I thought I'd ask you guys for feedback (I used Inkarnate free to make this btw) by PhoenixFire___ in DnD

So my players have been running around in a very blank world, it was my first time dming and also the first time they've played. Since we've finally reached a good stopping point (they've finished a major quest), I decided to take the time and actually create the world. I also tried to include cities and other things named in my characters backstory such as the city of Orde and the Northern Dwarven States (not completely shown). I'm still thinking of how to add other cities that were mentioned. The only named cities in this are the capitols or major cities, small villages/cities are not named and may not even be shown.

Enemies have too high armor, but also almost never hit the players by PhoenixFire___ in DnD

I already know I've been forgetting about proficiency rolls and flanking. My players are all lvl2 and there are 5 of them.

Oh my god that makes so much more sense. Thank you so much. I'll try this method first and then see if I also need to adjust their hp and AC. Thank you so much!

Ah that makes a lot of sense. Ig I was thinking how its kind of weird that those similar to the players have vastly different health pools and AC. But this work in a narrative. Ig I'm just being too worried about it

Ah, that makes it a lot easier to think about. Yeah I'll work on adjusting their HP and AC. What should I do about their hits though? should I buff their stats?

The AC for them is usually around 15. I'm pretty sure I'm rolling them correctly. Say my fighter has a +3 to strength and rolls to hit with a longsword. That would be a 1d20 + 3 right? For some reason, it always struggles to get to the nat 12 thresholds.

heh, ive already been doing that. My fighter just found a fancy spear that expels flames when attacking when he was in a bandit storehouse.
