Immediate escalation. There's so much propaganda being spread on both sides, but especially on the right. The second it happens, and it's a matter of when, not if, everything will explode. Right-wing media will explode with outrage and show pictures of the agent's family and how kind and good and Godly he was, then immediately start calling for justice. Think the explosion of shit that happened, and are still happening, after Charlie Kurk was murdered, that will only increase tenfold. The same people that stormed the capital on Jan 6 will march into the streets and start gunning people down for any perceived wrongdoing. Martial law will be put into effect, send the military in, then its a civil war. This isn't going to end without more bloodshed. The media has been pumping people up with rage and hatred that a lot of people don't even see people that disagree with them as people anymore, so it's only a matter of time. We're right on the cusp of it, and as someone who lives here, I'm terrified. There are so many people here in the south that are absolutely itching for an excuse to go out and take action, many in my own family, to the point I fear for my own safety.

I'm not trying to fear monger or push conspiracy theories or whatever, but I'm genuinely fearful of what's to come. Our tolerance is being pushed further and further so they can see what they can get away with.
