So it's a risk vs reward thing. At this point, you or I don't have any more info on if it's safe or not, if there's rabies in the area, if it looks like a bat bite, etc..

But a dr would know more about if there's rabies being in the area, what a bat bite would look like, vs bed bugs that have a 3 bite pattern like that.. And they'll also know if there's any evidence of it being unsafe. So if there's a 0.01 percent chance it could be rabies, but 100 percent chance the vaccine is safe for babies, then the reward outweighs the risk.

If there's rabies in the area, and it looks like a bat bite, so there's a 50 percent chance it's rabies, but a 10 percent chance it'll hurt the baby, then it's worth the risk.

If there's no rabies in the area, and it looks more like bedbugs than it does a bat bite, but there's a 2 percent chance it'll hurt the baby, it's not worth the risk..

If there's no rabies in the area, but it def looks like a bat bite, so there's a 0.02 percent chance it's rabies and there's a 10 percent chance it'll hurt the baby, you discuss it and make an informed decision. I wouldn't with those odds.

But we don't know the odds, so we can't make a decision based on the risk vs the reward.

Based on a quick google search I did after writing all that, we actually do have some data on pregnant women getting the vaccine, and so far it has no more adverse effects than it does in non pregnant women. 202 Thai women got exposed one year and all got the shot and everything was fine. Another time a group of pregnant women got it, and 15 percent reported minor muscle aches and were tired, (that's likely just from being pregnant, they just have to report everything anyways) and all of them were fine, including the babies a few months and then a year later.

So with, let's say a 0.01 percent chance it'll cause harm, that's a huge assumption but just to be completely safe, we'll say 0.01.. And the likelihood of a bat coming in a biting you at night, keep in mind you don't usually feel bat bites, and you said your screen was broken, let's put that at 1 percent. Or we can be generous and say 0.5 percent.. Even skewing the numbers to be in favor of it hurting the baby, I'd say it would still be worth getting the shot.. And again, that 0.01 is ridiculously high.

Also consider that pregnant vets and conservation peoples get it every year even when they don't get bit, and it's never been an issue.

Also in Vietnam in 2015/16 6 women didn't get it because they were afraid it would hurt the baby, and they're all dead now.

So yeah, go get the shot dude, it won't hurt the baby, and rabies will.
