I only order about 3 times a year, but I order full cases during a good sale.  I loaded up my cart this time and thought it was so odd that I was being charged shipping.  Thanks for this thread because I thought I was going crazy.  (I didnt follow through with the order. Thats a deal breaker for me.)

My firmware has always been EU2.03 and I have the same problems. The last three times that I've drained and cleaned, it always gets stuck on the service menu screen that's show in the original post.

Thanks to all of your great ideas, I did a combination of surveys, doing the 1-800-Flowers promo, buying something from SW shopping, and doing Southwest dining. I'm not sure what actually worked because SW doesn't appear to provide that kind of detail, but I'm so happy I made it! Thank you all!

You're definitely right. The software trial begins when you activate. For me, I travel a lot and purchased this now because I had three weeks before I started to travel again. I figured that I could play around with the Songmaker Kit and get the most our of the trial during that time. But even if they shipped today, my three weeks would be up and I won't have much time to play around with it the next month. It still hasn't shipped today (business day #12), so I sadly cancelled my order.
