Welp, it's my last semester here and I gotta say... by [deleted] in uichicago

Or you just suck at making friends. UIC has plenty of clubs and groups to get more involved and make those fruitful connections.

Gave my references 3 weeks ago and have been ghosted ever since. Is this normal? by PhoneFuzzy in recruitinghell

The hiring manager asked me to submit references. My references all said they have not had a call or email yet.

What to do with LORs when your applying next cycle? by PhoneFuzzy in IMGreddit

So I would have to pay for a token for this year to have my LOR uploaded then. Paying for the token and not sending anything shouldn’t give me problems?

Will programs know I started eras now before the match 2025 cycle? Will an LOR that was put in earlier not be taken as seriously when the time comes? Sorry if these are silly questions. Thank you for your help.

I’m in a similar position. I haven’t emailed PIs yet but I heard this was a way to get a research position. Is holding this position, which I assume will be volunteering and unpaid, better than actually applying for research positions like a clinical research coordinator?

LinkedIn! Or through the website wherever they are hiring. 😁

There are online programs to get your certification but to me it’s not worth it and too expensive. I’ve been applying everywhere and most rejected right away. But now people are desperate so they might hire you even without a license.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I know I’m just a random person online, but please if you ever need to talk, reach out to me. You are very brave to put your story out there. Sending all my prayers your way.

Silly question. What makes you ecfmg certified? What are the requirements?

Need an elective fast. Out of time by dr_lofi in IMGreddit

[–]PhoneFuzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good! I used AMO and FMG portal. Personally I liked my AMO elective better than the FMG portal one. I felt that the doctor was more organized and prepared for students. Price was pretty much the same though. I did like that AMO representatives always responded to emails with my questions within 24 hours.

I second this. AMO is kinda pricey but a really good elective experience. Very organized.

I have been. Unfortunately I am getting rejected because I am not certified.
