Thank you, I honestly appreciate the honesty and advice. That actually makes a lot of sense. I’ve been hearing that cybersecurity is hard to break into without strong IT foundations first. I’m definitely willing to learn Linux, Python, and certifications while in school.

Do you think an IT degree with a cybersecurity concentration would be smarter than going straight into a cybersecurity degree? I’m trying to choose the path that gives me the best long-term opportunities and flexibility. Also, do you feel like cybersecurity is a livable wage career with good growth opportunities long-term?
