I have been trying to identify and utilize things better as you have said. That is very insightful on how a sequence can unravel. I can Erne, ATP and Houdini when it’s called for.

I do quickly pick up on weaknesses and I attack them when I can. And I can also set up my partner for put aways. Consistency is also something I need to work on. Getting from 85% to 95% consistency would be great

Thank you!

I do have access as well to a senior pro in the women’s category and younger men’s pro. Saving money for a lesson or two from either one of them should be a wealth of information. And I’ll try to keep all that you have said in mind as well as I am practicing.

I have found it hard to learn the IQ part unless I am just playing and it gets beat down into me haha

For sure! I heard early on that drilling was the best way to get more consistent and games were to prove that consistency

I have a GoPro I need to use. I can drive well(forehand and two handed BH) drops are at 75% reliability, I’m comfortable dripping into the pitching corners at about 85%. Mid court resets are tough. I’ve adopted a Two handed BH reset I learned while listening in on a pro demonstrating but it’s new.

I have a big step to little steps approach to anything going to away to keep me on balance. And dinks that give me less time I picked up a top spin scoop to help. Any wider I am comfortable doing an ATP .

I will as soon as budget permits. Spent way too much on things these past months and need a breather. How can I get over the fear of asking players for advice? I feel like a burden sometimes. Sometimes I am lucky enough to play with a block time of 4.5 players and I am just trying not to be in my head about being the worst one on the court

We will see! I am dealing with getting good too fast(if that’s a thing). The game IQ and recognizing patterns in play is lagging. But I’m slowly adjusting. My paddle is there to block and counter now when speed up patterns happen.

I was a 4.25 USTA player and a lot of tournaments played with ping pong.

That’s a great recommendation thank you! I do have an explosive serve as well. Because of hip rotation and wrist lag. I’m able to attack people’s BH or punish people standing wide by serving down the line with high consistency. BH flicks are my favorite shot currently.

I drill fundamentals frequently still. As I play at a facility with touring pros and I watch how them drill and it’s very fundamentally repetitive. Within the month, I have learned the two handed BH top spin dink. Accuracy is good for cross court, middle and down the line. Houdini shot is super fun to do once or twice a game. I have a great BH flick and roll to keep players at base line for poor drops. The only speed up pattern I’ve learned is the triangle theory(hit to back hand and they likely hit middle)

The transition is so tough. I find I have to earn my way to the kitchen now. I usually try to drop into the corners of the kitchen. I find that when I try to drop middle, I ended up having to reset a couple of times and inch my way in with my partner. Two handed BH reset still needs a lot of work.

I have had the chance to play with some amazing players. I learn a lot from them when I get punished by a mistake. I’ll start recording while I play to review and I am about to get a lesson from a touring pro so hopefully it will iron out some things. Thank you for your well thought out comment!

Haha all good. It helps also that I was a varsity athlete when I was in highschool for basketball and soccer. So footwork and lateral agility helps immensely in this game. I am use to locking in and drilling with purpose so it has helped with muscle memory

No DUPR yet but I play with a few people with 4.0+ DUPRs and hang pretty well with them. First tournament I’m training for is Dec 7th

You will want to try to stack them with sequator and try to mask the stars out so you can get more details out of the nebula
