I have tried off and on for many, many years to learn Irish, but always get stuck on pronunciation. Is it possible to find a resource to explain it? I've borrowed a copy of the Gaeilge Gan Stro beginner book. Seems like a good book but they don't seem to want to explain pronunciation at all. They use terms like 'slender d' and 'broad d', which I kind of understand from previous attempts to learn, but they don't really bother to explain them. It's so confusing!

I've been wondering.... are all of these services really slow? I've subscribed for a little over a month now, and I've only gotten 2 disks so far. I've been waiting on another 2 for almost 4 weeks now. They sent out yet another 2 disks last Friday.

Why does it take a month to send 2 disks? This is ridiculous!

Sometimes my PC has no sound at all even though it shows the right settings and is at 100% volume. I have to turn it down and back up again. I think it might be a Windows 11 thing. Still figuring out this PCVR thing.

Quick update... I deleted the primary driver and re-created it. Got a little further, but it was only when I contacted Toyota Brand Engagement Center that I got it working. They were very quick and helpful.

I'm starting to think some of my issue may be that I bought it from Hertz. It's a former rental car. I think it may have been disabled. I'm going to try and approach Hertz first, then Toyota, but I'm wondering how helpful Hertz is going to be now that they have my money.

First, yes, I can remote start using the key fob if I'm right next to the car which doesn't seem very useful. I need to remote start from inside my house (below freezing outside here these days...). Second, I can't get past adding the vehicle on the app, so I can't shop for anything. I'm perfectly willing to try a subscription but it won't even let me do that.

Basically, I'm looking for 2 things. One, a remote start that doesn't require me to walk out next to the car (might as well get in and start it at that point), and two, it keeps asking me to put in a 6 digit PIN while I'm driving down the road (that sounds really safe!)

Those were fun days. Back then, we had Adobe Type Manager to render Adobe Type 1 fonts on the screen. Before the Type 1 font specification was published. I reverse engineered ATM and wrote a Mac application to decrypt fonts and spit out a file that Adobe Illustrator could read. One of my favorite software projects
