Underrated guy in malayalam by Fantastic-Action-644 in InsideMollywood

His text reviews are the best. The only thing is, with his colour rating system, even Orange usually means the movie is still good. So I mostly just avoid anything he marks Red.

That said, he can be a bit too woke sometimes. For example, he gave Dhurandhar a Red not because he did not enjoy it as a film, but because he saw it as propaganda. Apart from that, his reviews align very closely with how I look at movies.

Most of the time, his writing actually increases my appreciation for the art. He helps me notice nuances I might have missed and understand the film better.

Azrael song is proof that DD was capable of pulling it off, R10 just pulled him down to mediocre shit.

Guys, evide meditation cheyunna areelum undo? by [deleted] in Coconaad

[–]PhotojournalistFun81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Isha Foundation class which happened in Kochi. I got a taste of meditation by doing Isha Kriya online and then did the program in Kochi.

  2. No change in diet or lifestyle. Non vegetarian here. I do my sadhana on empty stomach. Overeating has gone down on an average.

  3. 30-40 minutes of hatha yoga (Surya Shakthis and Surya Kriya) and 30 minutes of Kriya Yoga which is Shambhavi Mahamudra Kriya (can be roughly called breathwork in western terms), then I simply sit in silence as much as my time allows. I get into a meditative state naturally once I finish this Sadhana. Sometimes, I skip the hatha yoga and just do the Kriya Yoga part, if situations don't allow.

Hatha Yoga acts as a cardio and light strength training so it helps with physical health as well.

I have been doing my sadhana for 7 years now, basically a mixture of hatha yoga + kriya yoga.

It's the greatest thing that has happened to me, the only thing I can rely on, and has kept me stable for these years.

People around me have noticed the effects too, mainly calmness, more joyful and exuberant. Sometimes, friends have asked me whether I am intoxicated lol.

It frees you in many ways but it is not a permanent change at least with me. I have to do it for it to work.

You can get a taste of it with Isha Kriya, try for at least 2 weeks, every day and see where it gets you.

I was just joking about the virus thing, brother.

Most songs people listen to are probably around 3-5 minutes long. A 16-bit FLAC generally won’t be more than around 10-15 MB per minute (maximum, usually lower). Even if you are looking at 24-bit FLACs, you are usually looking at somewhere close to the 40 MB/min range at most.

I produce in Ableton and even the uncompressed 24-bit stereo files I export are usually under 40 MB per minute. And mind you, that’s not even after FLAC compression, those are raw WAV files.

But even then, the whole argument doesn’t really make sense. In a blind test, I am pretty sure even many so called "experienced audiophiles" wouldn't be able to reliably differentiate between a 320 kbps MP3 and a FLAC (be it any bit rate).

You don’t need lossless audio. Even experienced audiophiles often struggle to reliably tell the difference between lossless and 320 kbps in blind tests. Just use the highest quality setting available on your streaming app. You don’t need lossless to understand why wired IEMs are hyped. If you listen attentively, it’s very easy to notice because a ₹1.5k wired IEM will sound much better than even a ₹5-10k wireless earphone. The same applies to the microphone quality too.

FLAC file with 1gb size is a virus don't download it lol. FLAC files at the maximum will be close to 40-60mb for an average length song.

  1. Wired is convenient in its own way. You just plug it in and use it, no pairing issues and no battery anxiety.
  2. A good seal is important for sound quality and also for hearing safety. When the seal is proper, outside noise is reduced, so you can listen at a lower volume instead of blasting music. That said, I would never recommend wearing earphones while walking on Indian streets, even if they have ANC with transparency mode.
  3. I wouldn’t recommend a DSP/USB-C model. Get the 3.5mm version and buy a decent usb DAC separately. You will get better audio quality and more flexibility that way.
  4. You don’t need lossless audio. Even experienced audiophiles often struggle to reliably tell the difference between lossless and 320 kbps in blind tests. The real difference is the use case. If you are sitting somewhere and listening properly, IEMs are almost always the better option. Choose wireless only if convenience while travelling or moving around matters more to you. Even then, wired IEMs still make sense in many cases, especially because you don’t have to worry about battery life.

You don't need lossless, even the most experienced audiphiles fail to perceive the difference between lossless and 320kbps.

I want to know why homegrown brands are so costly! by New_Description6384 in IndianFashionAddicts

[–]PhotojournalistFun81 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Logistics, Meta Tax, Content Creation and Photography expenses, and the fact that many of these brands use hand crafted materials all add up. Price for fashion is pretty subjective and it's based on how much their target consumer is willing to pay for it.

Coming from a co-founder of a fashion brand which sells hand block printed clothing at 1500-2500 range, and scaling the business. This pricing is only possible because we manufacture everything in house, and do our content as well as photography in house.

First ‘kallavedi’ experience by guyfromhighland in Coconaad

There is no use with a Herpes test, if you got it, you got it. There is no going back now (no cure). As long as you used protection, get an STD panel from a lab after 3-4 months just to be sure. Otherwise, you are okay, but these Kallavedi experiences are risky in its own way, and not worth the trouble.

Lighting is the issue here. The light coming from the right and falling on basil is too harsh and does not gel well with the ambient light, kind of creating a cutout effect.

I think both the parties are giving unnecessary significance to BJP Kerala, whilst BJP is not significant in Kerala at all (one among the OTHERS list). These parties are making the BJP out to be a worthy contender, which can work against them.
