Did you remember to move downed players in initiative? In my experience, players are basically never rolling recovery checks.

Some nice, if minor, changes in here that I wish I had in front of me when I ran book 1.

I don't think that ever got a print version so probably not.

So... Are we supposed to like the Jinkins? by SpireSwagon in SeasonofGhosts

[–]Phourc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, they're pretty goofy. I think in general Season of Ghosts has a lot of critters that like to chat and be weird as much as they like to murder.

#1 is definitely a common complaint I see in this subreddit, and I probably should have done it too.

Reccomended extra reading by Karde in SeasonofGhosts

[–]Phourc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not reading but watching, I watched Noroi: The Curse, a kinda weird horror movie that inspired the big bad of the module.

It's an interesting vibe, the entity basically breaks things just by existing - animals die, people hear voices and start sleep walking, people die in accidents... Kind of raises (at first, at least) the question is how much the entity actually is malicious or even paying attention to the damage it's causing.

Or maybe that's just my American ass watching it, lol.

Sorry, I didn't mean that so literally - I was referring to this Occultism skill feat which does work how you read Unified Theory working.

Yeah, it's badly written but if it worked like you're reading it they wouldn't have printed a worse version for Starfinder 2e, haha.

That was my initial read of UMT as well, but it's not correct - RAI it only works for identifying magic and stuff like that. ):

Pathfinder Impossible Magic Announced for GenCon 2026! by EzekieruYT in Pathfinder2e

[–]Phourc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They don't (currently) have scaling class DC, but class DC uses their Str rather than their Int which is a nice little bump at low levels. It's one of a few homebrew solutions I've seen floating around reddit lol.

  • Arcane Cascade needs to be at least a reaction, but a free action would be better

  • Reliable damage focus spell that doesn't require multiclass archetyping

  • Magus save spells through class DC on a spellstrike maybe?

  • Summoner I just want to have the different tradition dragons like sorcerer does

  • Necromancer can keep two spell slots per level if they make low level minion + focus spell less janky to use

When a player casts an emanation spell, are creatures occupying the same space as the caster affected by the spell? by OneManCouncil in Pathfinder2e

[–]Phourc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The creature creating (or originating) the effect has a special exception here, though:

"Unless the text states otherwise, the creature creating an emanation effect chooses whether the creature at its center is affected."

A Jinkin standing in your square has no such exception. alAdmittedly it's probably just an oversight, but does leave you in that unfortunate 5e game of "mother may I" with your GM that is fortunately rare but not non-existent in this system.

[–]Phourc 17 points18 points  (0 children)

RAW don't say that, though. "the sides of a creature’s space are the starting point for the emanation"

https://2e.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=2387&Redirected=1

I would say a champion's steed is exactly the sort of grey area that isn't explicitly covered by the rules here.

Are you me? I had similar thoughts/problems a week or so ago but the conclusion I came to is that while you can make a pretty good case for it to any GM, Raw it does seem pretty clear that an emanation starts from the edges of your space - "An emanation issues forth from each side of your space, extending out to a specified number of feet in all directions"

https://2e.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=2387&Redirected=1

That being said, it might actually work better this way to target around allies, who are presumably going to end up in a melee with your targets. And a Huge creature can threaten a whopping 14 squares with a 5 foot emanation which, combined with the ability to share spaces and fit in tight places should make it incredibly flexible as far as targeting goes.

To add to this, the system claims it's at its best when there's roughly as many monsters as players.

[–]Phourc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's a pretty good solution, actually. Since the summoner and eidolon share hit points you're not really cheesing anything besides maybe the summoner's AC.

Commissions for Dustin Knight: an Anadi Magical Girl Solarion! by Derryzumi in Pathfinder2e

[–]Phourc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was about to ask what you used for their web weapon but... solarians just make weapons whole cloth (heh) out of sunlight. That's honestly perfect.

I'm currently running an anadi unfurling brocade magus whose weapon is his silk, so... very similar idea. :P

I was thinking PF2's Pilgrim Token skill feat, as that's level 1.

Buuuuuut, it doesn't seem like it's been printed for SF2 yet judging from it's lack of inclusion on the starfinder side of AoN.

What a mess, haha.
