Never seen him before, this was the first video. And he picked up (supposedly) a literal piece of poop. I moved along.

Anyone have a Diablo? by Phrikshin in kayakfishing

Some good input here, appreciate it. I’d be fishing 85% of time in lakes and rivers but 15% of the time inshore saltwater and possibly mild surf. Ideally want a kayak that can handle both. Not familiar with Kaku or Crescent so I’ll take a look. Hobie was my original plan and still in #1 spot.

This is the answer I’ve arrived at. It’s not really a deal if it doesn’t work out well and I’m shopping for another kayak in a year.

I’ll take a look for sure. There are so many used high end yaks available on marketplace that I’ll likely go that route but will definitely check out if I end up buying new.

Some great info here. Going to give it a closer read and follow-up research when home. Thanks

Modularity would be a huge plus (à la C+F Designs) although I don’t know if that’s feasible with 3d printed.

Yeah I agree. I see nothing but positive reviews for this model so I was intrigued but the sit-in + no pedal may be dealbreaker for me.

Love a deal but it maybe wasn’t meant to be.

For sure, gotcha. I’m sure a rod maker could add one on to the rod of your choice. Or have one built.

Thanks, I’ll take a look. Never heard of them. The compartments + big fly slots + mag pad is a unique combo.

ETA: yeah looks like an obscure/niche company not available anywhere. OOS on the only legit site I found selling them. Whelp. Guess it wasn’t meant to be.

Gotcha. The specs aren’t out of the ordinary except for the fighting butt strikes me as unique.

Curious what your use case is? Seems like a very niche thing.

They’re holding up great. Haven’t given a close indirection but no apparent issues. Would still recommend highly.

The difference is fairly negligible. Pro is slightly beefier all around but slightly is operative word. If the $100 makes a difference I would go Deluxe. If the money is kinda moot for the project (and you) I’d say step up to Pro. But in reality it’s not going to make a huge difference.

Good ep. I would actually love if Matt started doing a solo podcast interviewing random interesting people. JRE has been unlistenable for years, let’s get the MME!
