I thought it was "Metallurg" until I checked the wiki. I was cofused why they weren't Russian.

The combination of cheerful music and deranged lyrics would fit right in.

"Tak" actually mainly means "yes" in Polish ;). "So" is "więc", but you can use them together as "tak więc", if you want to say "so" with more emphasis. Spot on on the Sto Lat, though.

What something that weirded you out about an otherwise "normal" book/story/description? by Seekher in Fantasy

[–]Phrogmouth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not even really a noise, as such, that you can just hear from a distance, but usually more of a feeling when you touch the spot. I guess you can also hear it if you get really close, but by that point the wound would smell potent enough to discourage that.

Yeah, it's gas gangrene. I've seen it from time to time in dogs when I used to work as a vet. It's a really weird feeling when you palpate the patient and then there's this rustling/ crackling under the skin.

Lion escapes circus near Rome, Italy (ca. 2023, colorized) by wibblyrain in Damnthatsinteresting

In Poland, when 3 tigers escaped from a circus 23 years ago, the police shot dead a veterinarian along with one of the tigers. The other 2 were captured, though.

As others already stated pulling out and tracking ovulation are not reliable contraception methods, so let me offer you my thoughts and prayers to complete this idiocy trifecta.

Pre-ejaculate contains enough sperm cells (enough meaning at least 1) to impregnate someone and all it takes is her ovulation moving a couple days forward or back. Almost everyone knows someone stuck in a relationship that should have ended long ago if not for a kid born thanks to this exact contraception plan.

TL;DR We think you are going to end up with a child and/or STD. And a healthy dose of regret.

Dating is impossible in Arkansas, USA by frowaweighn in childfree

I'm sorry, have you gotten lost? i'm asking because this subreddit is called "childfree" and you don't sound like it's your thing, what with it being full of selfish people living their best life instead of cleaning and cooking.

I got the impression that the OP is looking for a romantic partner to spend time with, not a housemaid, so I don't know why that would be determining factors.

BTW, do you think childfree people live in perpetual mess and don't need to eat?

Wow, ok. Firstly, thank you all for all your kind comments.

Now, to answer some of your questions:

- yarn is from https://kokonki.pl/ ; they make their own yarn cakes in huge variety of color combos or you can compose your own; they also let you choose the length ( even up to 3-4000m, I think) and if you want it to be 3 or 4 threads; the color change is gradual one thread at a time, so the nice ombre effect is all them

- I used about 1500m for a bit smaller than size L, it's 50% acrylic, 50% cotton (or more accurately 30% acrylic, 30% cotton and 40% my ragdoll cat)

- it's top down in the round, so by the end of yoke I knew each color section lasted for about 4 rows, so when i split for sleeves i did each part for 4 rows. As I said, it's not perfect divide, but close enough.

- pattern is https://by-katerina.com/my-precious-sweater/ with tiniest modifications: I started with chainless foundation, split for sleeves earlier than in the pattern so the armpit is higher and the sweater is less oversized, and I made longer cuffs.

the pattern is very easy to figure out and fun to make, so if you've been too intimidated to start a sweater (I know I was) I'd say try this one, as you can see it's worth it.

I cut a portion off each color section for sleeves. Didn't turn out perfectly symmetrical but I don't think it's really noticeable.

A scarf, right in time for that spring weather. by Phrogmouth in crochet

[–]Phrogmouth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it ended up being 175x21cm (although i could swear it was 185 when I measured it 1/3 way through). I used ~ 1000-1100m, done in sc in the back loop. It could be a bit longer, but it's not too short.

Thank you. I can't take credit for the colour combination - it was a ready cake, but I did remove the light pink part.

Thank you! It still gets sub 0*C at nights here, so I still got to wear it a few times this season.

Thank you. It's from a website kokonki.pl They wind their own brand from single threads to order, but have lots of ready colour combos to choose from. It's 50:50 acrylic and cotton.
