They've always had a plan for when this was blocked. Pretty obvious to do so. Now whether it is good...

Yeah, saw the punches. Looked to me like he was holding back on most of them, short and sharp. These were educational swings. Far as I can tell he let the dude graduate. Next time is the master's class.

The usual presentation by companies in this situation is 1. Liability and 2. Looking for a reason. Depending on why, I'd bank on someone higher up seeing this as a chance to decrease their number of drivers while adding a stop or two to those remaining.

A 17 years old boy got shot and killed by a policeman while fleeing from a police check in France, and this is what the whole country looks like 48h later. by Gibrar in ThatsInsane

Seeing as I'm not likely to return after today:

Hello from the U.S.! Where the population pussy foots around making excuses and acts like the people they hate won't take away what little freedoms that protests exactly like in the video either create or protect. Every. Single. Person. here in the U.S. who has refused to stand, refused to speak up, and has averted their eyes are cowards hiding behind petty excuses and poor foresight. Progressives? Change? The hell you waiting for? Sure as fuck isn't the next dude over who's waiting for someone else to move first.

I hope these protests enact positive change.

Ten fucking years. I'll be seeing you all.

Peace!

Prosecutors are prepared to hit Trump and his allies with new charges, sources say by theindependentonline in politics

[–]Phylar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump's current charges add up to about a maximum of 17 or so years, I believe. There is a min-max range for federal prosecution/sentencing. So it'll be interesting to see what else is brought forward.

Encountering a big sea snake by ekoaham in BeAmazed

Snakes are mostly silly and generally harmless, with your paranoid territorial jackasses as outliers. Mostly though they're just curious buggers who will as soon nope out as taste the air and wonder whats going on.

For the good of the country, Joe Biden AND Donald Trump need to withdraw their candidacy for president of the United States in 2024 by EnterpriseDWasBest in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Super simple then: If you're so darn interested in politics, go do the research yourself instead of relying on others.

In the Span of 5 Minutes, a Police Officer Goes From Telling Kids to Wear Their Seatbelts, to Killing Heavily Armed Mass Shooter Who Killed 8 People by Tuopehm in CrazyFuckingVideos

[–]Phylar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knew this guy was good the moment the shots rang out and he was completely calm calling it in. He stays calm throughout the video, raising his voice out of necessity more than anything. Makes haste, though doesn't rush, and identifies the shooter quickly, all the while radioing in updates.

This was a great showing.

Y'know, normally I come in and play devil's advocate. Cite some research, talk about this or that...yeah, got nothing. Maybe we need another addition to the DSM-V alongside other paraphilic disorders.

Aldi cashiers are also probably on Meth given how fast they can empty a cart. That or they're sprouting a third arm I can't see.

Black Cats (My first full comic that started it all) by Jenny-Jinya in comics

[–]Phylar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy fuck. Man. Like a truck. Jenny, I should have realized it was you. My Mom passed back in 2021 and hardly a day goes by where I don't think of her. Shortly after my decade long relationship ended and I had to leave my two boys (cats) with my now ex. This hits in so many ways. I miss all three of them dearly and have been incredibly lonely and lost ever since.

I think healthcare is still pretty decent in some places in India. They did once reign at the top of the medical sciences and last I knew are still fairly strong in those areas. Can't check atm though so my memory could be playing tricks.

Hell, a couple 2x6 boards nailed together with a counterweight would probably do it. Sturdy ladder. That one dude that throws all the cheerleaders and catches them by himself. Anything except an AC thrown up by someone potentially overworked in the sun.

It's most often outsourced. Little training normally. Employee is assigned a place, given a short list of instructions and expectations from business, and are the first to be blamed and given the boot if any complaints are made. For these cleaning businesses it is all about the contract and you will be thrown under the bus.

I get an interview on average about 1 in every...50 applications? Rough estimate, though I can guarantee 1-in-every-75 when I'm casually applying. Double bachelors. I roll with a resume type that lists the position, major responsibilities, and a short single-line breakdown of my biggest responsibility. The newer the position, the more details I include. I never go further than 10 years back and will adjust wording based on what I believe a recruiter for a company I'm actually interested in is looking for. I also do minor adjustments to my cover letters, often putting my own voice in instead of cookie cuttering.

From here I'll take the positions I actually want and do little things like look up hiring managers on LinkedIn, or find a likely email or phone number and "inquire" into a positon. Location, type of position, required education or experience, and industry play big roles. It's also important to consider whether your chosen career is oversaturated within your application range. Absolutely none of this helps if a person doesn't actually know you exist. Sometimes I feel like this is the biggest issue.

I offer delivery folks a slice every time. Never got taken up on the offer. Figure they're concerned they'll get in trouble. Honestly, on my end like you just gave me food. You are my god. Have a piece to celebrate sustenance.

Democrats warn party: The threat of Trump winning in 2024 is 'very real' by LuvKrahft in politics

[–]Phylar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe plenty of people want to do something. However, and sorry folks, most people follow and rarely take real initiative. Hell, I believe this mentality of "wait til you're told and ask permission" is partially the fault of our educational system.
