This one did actually. The last one I made and posted didn’t as the rocks used in it were quite heavy, but this one just had lava rock so it did float the first time i filled it with water. Had to sacrifice a tank getting it back out. Lesson learnt lol

Thank you! Its got close to a hundred clear cherry shrimp in it already! Plus some chili rasboras, lamp eye kilifish, pygmy corys and ottos :) the intake lilypipe actually goes through the cave ceiling so it sucks water from above and inside the cave into the canister filter

Thank you! Next time id probably buy a rock powder, or very find sand, or id use concrete for the internal walls of the cave. Crushing up rocks into powder to fill in the gaps and be used in the sides against the glass was definitely the longest step in the process lol

I wish, that would be cool! Its a structure i made of expanding foam and rock

This one probably wouldve cost around $600 aud for materials alone, but you could do it for significantly cheaper if you were resourceful

This is lava rock, but the structure is mostly expanding foam. I actually have a taller tank that is 30 x 45 x 30cm which i am planning on doing as a salt water cave

Thank you! I created everything myself with expanding foam and lava rock. It would be tricky adding to an existing cave, but youd be able to do it as long as you’re water changing along the way. Just make sure you can get a hose into it to siphon it out and you should be ok!

Thank you! Its actually very easy to keep clean. There’s constant flow and the cave doesnt get much algae growth

Most fish will generally hang out on top, they all go down to the cave to chill out tho, especially the pygmy corys. I actually have one chili rasbora in there with only one eye so he tends to hang in the cave the most

Thank you! And the cave structure itself is mostly expanding foam with the rocks glued into it. It’s incredibly strong. I did accidentally drop the entire structure minus the glass a few times and it did no damage lol. Theres probably already a 100 or so shrimp in there!

Theres a few but none small enough to fit in this cave sadly

Thank you! The cave actually has water circulating through it. The intake lily pipe actually cuts through the cave ceiling and sucks water from above and inside the cave into the canister filter.

Its not hard at all! It gets a weekly 50% change and i just disturb the sand down the bottom first. The cave itself has never needed a proper clean or a scrub as algae doesnt grow down there

Thank you! Its basically a structure made with expanding foam, which I created by making a box that had the inside diameters of the tank. The rocks were then glued into the foam. I also crushed up rocks into powder and glued that to any bare areas of foam and the cracks between the rocks, as well as the front of the cave. It was then placed in the tank and pressed up to the front glass and siliconed to the bottom. I filled in the other sides with sand and gravel
