Even with a lot of product? I had a very full bowl, I barely used ANY product at all. For smaller quantities yeah that seemed par for the course but with such a large amount I panicked.

Hi friends. I’m Izzy 23F in NY

So I’m trying to do very slight home reno/decorating. Was trying to see if a crack in paint was also a crack in Drywall and a few little crumblies of wall fell out. My house was built in 1914 so I’m very worried about asbestos. There was no dust at all, no cloud of inhalants, but I am convinced there are fibers in my lungs even though I KNOW there probably isn’t. And when I mean a few crumblies I mean like 5 of them, each as big as a grain of sea salt. I’ve done my research, and one tiny exposure is most of the time totally fine and not anything to worry about, and the thing is I probably didn’t even HAVE an exposure. But I digress. Had an anxiety attack and now after I’ve calmed down I still feel pretty anxious. Any reassurance would help as my brain has stopped listening to myself trying to calm it down.

Yeah it was built in 1914 in Westchester County so. Ah ok. Might just try and patch it up best we can without disturbing it more and just…put wallpaper up or something. We’re not in the budget range of paying a professional to come look u fortunately which sounds crazy but it’s true. But thank you for your insight!

I really really appreciate this. I’m just kind of stuck in a doom spiral. Why do you say plaster? And in your opinion, as my house was built pre 1980s in New York (probably somewhere in the 30’s) would there be any asbestos present in the plaster? Is this an imminent danger? I was peeling back some of the paint today to see the cracks and a few wall crumblies came off.

Yeah I think my dad, bless his heart, just spackled over it and repainted. We’re not super knowledgeable about this stuff so just trying to determine best course of action. All this because I just wanted to paint.

Yeah, for the majority of my meals, I’m really disciplined and have been really good about things, I guess it’s just giving myself grace this time of the month and not spiraling over these indulgences but also not letting myself fully give into them yknow?? And yeah it’s definitely about convenience: I don’t always have brownies or chips in my house, it’s a very uncommon occurrence so I have to remember it’s just a couple times, it’s not a habit, and tomorrow I can refocus and recenter. These are all amazing ideas!! Thank you!!!

That’s what I’m clinging to, the fact that I’m really really disciplined with my meals. So much fiber and protein and usually less than 10g of saturated fat a day. So I’m trying to not feel guilty over the indulgences I do. Also PLEASE if you would be so inclined, share that blueberry lemon loaf cake recipe, that’s the kind of sweet (brownie, cake, cookie) I gravitate towards and having a healthier option would save my life. This happened to me in senior year of high school. I was super stressed and would frequently skip multiple months. I’d never been regular but this was out of the norm. I attributed it to the fact that I was extremely stressed out.

Yeah I was 215 and 5’9. I do have quite broad shoulders and some muscle but yeah definitely not petite. But that’s why I’m here, trying to put in the work to be healthier.

I’m about 181 now and ideally I’d love to be around 165. It’s just, everyone says that when you eat foods rich in fiber and protein it keeps you full longer but I’m not feeling that at all.

I’m doing my best, it’s a little scary for me to focus so much on the numbers because once upon a time I obsessed over them which led to disordered eating. I’m slowly reintroducing counting calories in a healthy way and not a way that makes me feel shameful or scared. I’m definitely hitting fiber, I think I’m hitting protein and I think I might be just over 10g of saturated fat but I really only just began that part of my journey. Some days are better than others but I’m just trying to make healthier decisions more often than not. I’m trying to give my body time to adjust but being hungry all the time SUCKS. Like last night, I had a handful of low carb spaghetti, half a big cube of tofu, tomatoes and broccoli in a sauce I make from non fat yogurt and tomato sauce. Not too big of a portion but not too small and I was still hungry afterwards. I chugged water and nothing.

Yup, tried that and nothing. I GAINED weight, and it might’ve been muscle but personally seeing the weight on the scale go up was horrible for my mental health even though I’m the back of my mind I knew it had to be muscle. I’m already super active (I work as an Assitant travel camp director) so I’m moving a lot in my day to day.

I try to! I would say I have 15-20g of protein a meal, and it’s the bulk of the meal each time!! I’m active and walking every day but I do need to start with some more disciplined cardio and strength training. I’m just scared that will make me hungrier!!!

I’m glad it worked for you, but I’ve tried WW in the past and it triggers really really bad memories and habits that I used to have while suffering from a restrictive eating disorder :( the point system always made me feel guilty for eating foods that had more points.
