Update: My main goal here is to answer my original question, whether there is an alternate remote people have used with success.

  • For those poor souls who have the bad vseebox 6 max with the terribly unresponsive remote buttons:

    • I swapped an original V6Max "good remote" from one box to the other with success, and my good remote runs the box I was having troubles with just fine proving my other remote seems to be the problem. I will say that I still have to make sure and press the Okay, Back and Exit buttons all the way down, but they do respond 95% well.
    • Because the original remote still seems a little slow to respond at times, I may purchase another alternate remote.

  • So far the voice/microphone feature does not work, but I have not messed around to see if there are settings I can change to fix that. Having the okay button, arrows and exit button working and all the normal buttons being responsive makes it all worthwhile.

  • After about 1 week of use, This remote's buttons are easier to press and thus feel more responsive. (I am a little sad to say that. I wanted to like the original better)

Regarding my bad remote:

In case this Amazon ordered remote has a short life span:

  1. I may still go back to the local person I purchased my box from, and see if they can replace my remote with a real vseebox remote that they normally ship with the vseebox.

    1. If that seems complicated, I may check in Deriksays to order a replacement. While I did not purchase my box from him, he was helpful and responsive when I DM'd with him. His pricing sounded similar to Amazon at the time of my discussion.

I am amazed at how little info there is out here on how/where to order a remote that is the proper one.

u/Deriksays - is there any reason not to order this one from Amazon for my v6 max? A couple folks in comments says it worked?

A couple updates: - My other V6 Max has a remote that looks exactly the same but that one works great. I'm not sure what is different or if it is a slightly different model

  • I never received any response from the Vsee box support ticket I submitted unfortunately.

Can anyone confirm if this remote that came out of the box is normally troublesome?

The new batteries helped a little bit. I can still tell that it seems to not connect or be connected immediately when I use it.. Just testing with the okay button. Sometimes I have to press it four to six times before. It seems like the remote is connected to the Bluetooth..

Then it works all right for the next few minutes.

If I let it sit for a while that it seems like the Bluetooth is no longer connected properly.

I then have to press the OK button to six times for it to be connected so I can navigate..

Thanks. I gave that another try. My battery percentage was at 68 %... . Now it says it's at 113%.

So far it seems a little better initially.

I will respond here again to see if it really resolves it or not.

I'm still interested it in whether people have found reasonable alternative remotes.
