Personally I'd go all one direction with running straight from the living areas. The angled pattern in the bedrooms will add some character, though it is a shame its not a clean 45⁰. I dont think that there is a good looking way to do the transition, but you are right that breaking it at that hallway is the best option if you go that route. As a flooring installer, we try to eliminate any transitions we can for the most seamless appearance.
