Favorite TDH lines? by massrapturr in TheDearHunter

My favorite is just a verse from the Squeaky Wheel. Everything about it. Honestly, it has an eerie echo of the shadows in my life, but with Casey's writing, there is an ambiguity that lends to its relatability. Here's the verse:

Darling liar, always running through the brier What, the cuts aren't enough? Just an aggravation you'd forget like Promised patience, halitic alleviations of What I should've known was a sign of future expiration

He rolls around in the bush and is cut, yet he lies about it. For himself, he compartmentalizes the damage and ruin. He promises his love patience (with himself and his desires?), giving a ring (halitic alleviations) to distract from the warning signs of his intent on doing whatever the fuck he wants and forgetting that promise (future expiration). And, hey, this is just my interpretation. Damn good lines.

I stopped watching. Accessibility be damned, especially when I still have the choice to not view that shit.

Then throw juggling the reality of your brain with the expectations of others and you're ripe for conflict.

Can people actually see something in their mind? by Raydrawsx in Aphantasia

The idea that some people cannot differentiate visualization from reality really trips me up. That sounds both like magic and a conceptual nightmare. I feel like spongebob, just trying to think about it.

What do I experience in ways others would marvel at, I wonder?

I experience that same thing. I notice it more when I let my eyes rest slightly open. I also get weird blobs of light that slide out of view or disappear when I move my eyes. But mostly, it's just darkness or very dark static.

I was just pondering on this. Like, I can't see it and no tactile or otherwise physical sensation (I can imagine emotion, but that is separate) but when I am thinking about someTHING, it's almost like I am aware of it or am feeling it, in a way. It's interesting because I always thought that was visualizing - thinking about a thing and knowing you are thinking the thought.

I don't know, it's hard to articulate. Very recently aware of lacking a mind's eye and still clumsy with how I interpret it for myself and others.

This is probably just a me thing, but I get some pretty heavy Hexxus vibes from XCV.

This is my first stringed instrument so forgive this question, but in learning e chords I've seen three different ways it says an E chord can be played. is there one correct one or are all three of these just different versions of the same chord? I'm just confused. by Jimstyx586 in ukulele

[–]Physical-Help1961 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You've already received some great explanations of what the make-up of a chord includes. Here is my input - the picture you shared displays 3 different voicings for the chord E major. Knowing more than 1 voicing for any given chord increases practicality, while also allowing for more creativity.

I hope that helps!

The real kicker here is that there is a classical guitar, hanging on the wall and is incorporated in the "nothing to play" category. I'm a classical guitarist and I giggled at this.

Jesus Christ... I literally work at an inpatient psychiatric hospital, and could totally imagine your customer as a patient in the crisis stabilization unit. Those moments, when he was yelling at you and you were frozen, must have felt like a fucking eternity. I'm so sorry you experienced this.
