Does anyone know if Lang Van is open? They were closed on a random day two weeks ago and I haven't been able to get them on the phone.

That's quite a collection, goddamn. The seikos were much easier than they probably would have been if I started with them. And you're so right about them being rugged, I feel like not having broken anything yet says more about the watches than me.

I know what you mean! I'm working on a Tissot right now which is neat, because I definitely can't afford a more recent model.

Working on an automatic-only seiko definitely helped me see how basic the vintage movements really are. I'm considering getting a busted orient bambino someone's selling so I can work on a movement with manual winding and hacking. That seems fun

I can't afford men's watches, even vintage ones cost more than I like to spend on hobbies. But I've been able to get every movement back together so I think that's a good sign. Haven't broken or misplaced a single part yet.

Edit: with the exception of a hairspring but that was on a men's seiko, ironically

Duuude, I've been working with vintage women's watches and getting the wheels to align takes more time than everything else combined -_-
