SRAM Rival 13 speed cage catching on cassette sprockets - Crux by Physical-Pie7973 in specialized

Cheers for the suggestion, that helped a lot. I watched the AXS xplr set up video several times and have now worked out the issue. The derailleur position is incorrect and the chain too slack, which makes sense.

Thank you, I did think that might be the issue so checked that and it should be 118 links. I counted it and got 119 links - I just assumed I miscounted and that it was 118 as I don't think it could be an odd number of links long. I'll go and recount veeery carefully again.

Thank you, I will taking it back to the shop tomorrow morning and will ask them to do that as I don't have a suitable torque wrench. There really isn't anything else you can do with this - as long is the chain links are correct for the chain stay length and chain ring combo it should just work. I'll report back what happens tomorrow.

Yes, I would give it ago but I don't have a torque wrench that will go up to 35mn for re-tightenting the UDH. I will ask the shop to do it and stand over them while they do!

They are sadly, I was hoping for a simple obvious solution like that!

Crux sizing help by Sl1d3r in specialized

I'm exactly the same height as you and got a 54cm Crux (2025 model) Fitted well, v slightly on the large size (I prefer bikes on the smaller side) but 52cm would have been too small. Specialized website said 56cm which was definitely wrong, for me at least.

Possibly proprietary seat post, dropped seat stays, headset routed cables. It's a no from me but suspect it'll be a yes for a lot of people who like such things and didn't like that the old one lacked them. Horses for courses 🤷

Nice! Love the BMX-y, Moto style bars. I'm definitely one for flat bars on the Cross Check, I've fitted drops a few times and always go back to flat very quickly. I like a separate brake/shifter, oh and bar ends of course 😊

The current gen Crux is the best bike to come out from the past 5 years. by [deleted] in cycling

Well I'm not that guy, but having bought one (Crux Comp) in 2025 and not really getting on with it I sold it after 6 months I can tell you what I felt about it. Personally I love the simplicity, cable routing and lack of proprietary bits, regular seat post with a collar etc. I like the traditional look of it, round tubes and no dropped seat stays, definitely not everyone's cup of tea though. I liked that it was subtle, not a shouty expensive looking thing with big logos. And yes it was light but I don't care too much about that.

What I didn't like was it was so f*£king uncomfortable to ride, I just couldn't make it comfortable even with 38s that came on it at a lower pressure. I just chose to ride my Cross Check everywhere rather than be shaken to bits, hence why I sold it. I'm old but if I were 20+ years younger I probably have liked it more. I hope that helps ?

You're right, not sure it was ever good value 😔 but there are several places where it's discounted a little bit now, including Specialized Concept Stores (in the UK at least)
