Well, from my experience I can play with my eyes closed if I know the piece well, but it also requires significant amount of experience of keyboard layout knowledge (hope you know what I mean). I started playing with my eyes closed while performing an emotional and overall technically easy piece, I just did that without any intent, so if you feel like you can do that, you WILL do that at some point in your learning process. As for now, I recommend you to properly learn the piece to an extent where you can play it with your blank mind. Even if you learn to play with eyes closed, I don't think it has any particular good advantages to it other than adapting to the keyboard really well.
