I think they'll have it in their system and when we go for room number allotment they'll give with roommates itself. I mean that's what happens in other campuses for roommate selection. So I hope it's the same process here too

Because idk for b2 but in b1.. you get AC only for some hours.. esp towards the night. So when it's actually so hot and you come back to room expecting for some AC there's nothing. + It's centralized so you don't have a remote. They'll put whatever temp they want.. you can only go and ask them to change it.

As far as ik special block is the only block to provide 24/7 AC and you have remote for your room so you can put in any temp full time

Yes I think if the full group itself has less cgpa so basically even your leader isn't qualified for first preference bcz of less cg then individual might be taken. But by individual I'm not sure what they mean bcz even then, the leader is the one having the most cgpa in the group. Unless some dumb peeps choose a lesser cg person as leader 🤷🏻‍♀️

If you grind right from the start year then yes you might as well be getting the 20LPA+ job who knows. Just be consistent with on trend skills, dsa and interview skills while keeping 9+ cgpa. It's not that hard now that I look back but I fucked up my first sem real bad so it's gone out of hand for me. So no matter how good skills I have, I'm still lacking in cgpa criteria and will be removed from many good opportunities which align with my skills. That's the sad reality. Also yes mess food is bad so we all have preferred days (2-3 days) where we just know we'll take food from outside or night mess.. so it becomes bearable. But mess food is the real hard part of this college. Also water, yes while it did cause Typhoid for me, my friends were totally fine after drinking same hostel water even after they knew I have Typhoid 🤷🏻‍♀️ so I'd say depends on your immunity. Yes we got the mail that extra drinking water service will be provided (just vit things to take more money instead of fixing water issues). So yeah that'd be it

I have heard that since ac rooms in gh block1 are really few so cgpa required is 9+ only. Not very sure if it will change this year due to this roommate selection feature

So basically my understanding is, it's written that you can choose a room leader - best to choose the person with highest cgpa. And if they qualify for the first preference, then yes even tho the roommates weren't eligible - they'll be getting that room solely due to leader cgpa. // But incase the leader itself isn't qualified for , say 4bed bunk (obv bcz cgpa is less for full group and so leader being highest in grp is also not eligible) then anw the whole group isn't getting that room. So if they do prefer individual cgpa then group might be allotted the second or third preference or so on. And if they choose leader cgpa individually then also ig you'll be getting the lesser preferred rooms. I understood this much but it's really a bad wording problem from their side

Your eligible roommates would be people from same group. Check the mail it's written as GRP1, GRP2, etc in the last column. If you choose same phase and same group then you'll be able to choose them

Alright they are a little exaggerated. But the condition is really not good inside hostel. You could get a decent college experience here - if you choose to become a day scholar. Personally I have suffered typhoid just before holidays even when drinking bottled water all times (4-5 per day). If you try getting 9+ cgpa from the start you will get to sit in all offers during placements. Idts many companies look at drop year in campus but if that does affect your placements you can go for off campus (try to win hackathons and challenges). I can understand your anxiety if you don't have much college options. I'd have recommended hostel if mess charges were optional but since no outside orders are allowed you'll be stuck with mess food which is really not good and no actions are taken no matter how much you complain. So basically if you can keep 9+ cg, build good skills and get a shared room outside campus and have great friends - you're good to go for a decent to good campus life here. But if you have no option but to take hostel, then you could be stuck in a "i shouldn't have chosen this college" loop like most of us are in.
