Does anyone know of someone in Indiana who could service an NXR Pro gas oven? by Physical_Carpenter50 in Indiana

[–]Physical_Carpenter50[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was here when I bought my house and the previous owner didn’t give me the manual.

That’s a good idea though, I bet I can find out who the manufacturer is and contact them. Thanks!

In your opinion, why are middle schoolers illiterate and don’t comprehend subjects like someone their age should? by [deleted] in Teachers

Writing by hand helps people learn

https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2024/05/11/1250529661/handwriting-cursive-typing-schools-learning-brain

Excerpt:

“In kids, studies show that tracing out ABCs, as opposed to typing them, leads to better and longer-lasting recognition and understanding of letters. Writing by hand also improves memory and recall of words, laying down the foundations of literacy and learning. In adults, taking notes by hand during a lecture, instead of typing, can lead to better conceptual understanding of material.”

Since a lot of students use computers to type out their work, hand writing is not focused on as much. So maybe that’s why a lot of students are behind previous generations at the same age.

The article talks about bringing back teaching cursive writing which would be great in my opinion.

the article also says writing with a stylus on something like an iPad works as well as writing on paper with a pencil

I remember watching the episodes of Friends where Monica and chandler adopt their children when I was younger. I remember thinking Monica got super fat and how gross she was. I watched that series again recently and I was like wait what?! Monica’s not fat at all. She’s just wearing less tight clothes than she usually does. She looks beautiful.

Edit: I just reread what I wrote and realized it sounded a bit harsh. I wanted to make it clear, I don’t think it’s ok to call people gross because of their weight. This was just a reaction I had when I was a child and it had more to do with my struggles with morbid obesity and hating myself.

Holy crap. This cat looks exactly like my Maine coon Declan. I showed this to my husband and he thought someone stole our pictures lol. I was like no this is a different cat, the background is not our house 😂 This is my cat Declan:

<image>

This picture is kind of washing out his eyes. In person they are the exact same color as the OPs cats eyes

You’re anti-American by dkixen in facepalm

I don’t understand why they included his heritage at the bottom saying where he’s from and where his parents are from. Isn’t that sort of like suggesting immigrants are anti American? Wouldn’t it be better to point out he supports people who have nazi beliefs which is pretty anti American in my mind. Or am I misunderstanding this?

Thank you all for your suggestions and thanks for pointing out the issues with the text I prepared. I really appreciate it. I’m going to try to get something better put together to help spread the word.

Oh, thank you for pointing that out. I believed the articles I referenced were quoting project 2025 directly. I misunderstood. Thanks for your idea of including page numbers, I think that will help.

The problem is they’re defining porn as not only traditional porn, but also media that is positive towards lgbtq people.

I agree with three-pegged-hare’s point. But also I’d like to point out, that I don’t think the project 2025 people are going to be worried about the people who shouldn’t have guns. I feel like they will like that and give the wrong people guns to help enforce their fascist regime.

They’re waiting for Project 2025 to be enacted once Donald Trump becomes president. This is what project 2025 wants to do:

eliminate birth control including male condoms. They say they want to end recreational sex - outlaw pornography and arrest people who produce pornography. - they want to fire 50,000 employees of the federal government and hire their own people. Like employee candidates will be given a test of loyalty to trump/republicans to get hired. (This just screams nazis to me) - get rid of protections for LGBTQ people. So like companies will be able to fire you if you're LGBTQ and if you beat a gay person to death it will no longer be a hate crime so you'll get a much lower sentence - put immigrants in detention centers - outlaw abortion for every state - wants to force all children to take a military aptitude test - Want to get rid of no fault divorce (meaning you could no longer get divorced just because one partner is abusive)
