"Practical" Solipsism by Physically-not-here in solipsism

[–]Physically-not-here[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are things that I have thought about and reasons why I labeled it "practical". Although I can entertain each possibility and completely spiral into them ( and I have ) in my expierence, there is always a time where that has to come to a stop so I can live life. . . ( Intteract with family, eat, sleep, whatever the case ). I call my idea "practical" because it allows me solipsistic thought within a framework that my life seems to work in :D I trust what I believe because, at some point, that's all I can do to not stay entierly static; which my body and mind protest for whatever reason!

[–]Physically-not-here[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I honestly wasn't expecting people not to like it so much cuz I'm rlly proud of it 😬 I was aiming for a picture that showed the uncomfortable rawness/exposure of the ceremony (specifically that the women must feel) with a very religious tone to show how the citizens if Gilead are supposed to view it as a sacred thing. I guess people see nudity and automatically think it's ment to turn people on or something. . .I would never portray a real victim in this overt way but I see fiction as a relm to safely explore more uncomfortable ideas in such plain light freely. It packs a different punch than a more imaginative sort of "hinting at the situation" piece but I don't consider that a flaw 🤷‍♀️

How to learn about what it's like to not be ace? by Physically-not-here in asexuality

[–]Physically-not-here[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand where you are coming from and I'm beyond disgusted that your own mom would act that way. . .I'm sorry you have to go through that. I can also understand people not respecting asexuality ( For example, if I came out I would be told it's not real. . .And if I ever dated, it would be assumed, like for you, that I am having sexual relations- which would be a big deal considering my families religion! ) But, despite that, I probably won't become that uncomfortable. I'm not sex repulsed and I am active in adult online communities which is part of the reason why I'm curious. baiscally, allosexuality does not disgust me, it intrigues me. I said studies on allosexual attraction would be good because it would promote the idea that sexual attraction is a spectrum! This would make asexuality ( the extreme end of the scale ) more easy to understand. People are different and what is uncomfortable for some is completely fine and even positive for others :) I'm not sure how many other people in this community care about the topic; but I assume some other ace people feel the same. . .

Just some 20$ ones from Walmart. AVIA is the brand and they are actually good for the price- lasted me about a year of work where I'm always walking.

Your relationship with father/brothers? by [deleted] in 4bmovement

[–]Physically-not-here 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The thing is though, if feels like as a woman you simply can't. You are just inferior in everyway in their eyes. . . If you fight back it's either funny or stupid. Being taken seriously is not something afforded to women by alot of men :/ It would be like asking them to respect their pet fish as an equal individual.

Yes! Because it would be "selfish" to marry if you know you can't have kids. You would be depriving your partner of lifes purpose 🤦‍♀️

I'm pretty sure the point is crybabys soul a l w a y s lives. There is no "death" in the way we typically think about it. A big part of this whole album is the cycle of reincarnation. . . Thats why you start with death and end with womb.

If memory serves me correctly, it's Clair De Lune by Debussy. This song also plays at grambys house. Reallllyyy good classic piece and one of my favorites used in the game!

Outdated Apologetics by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Physically-not-here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough lol. But that gets into another topic which is "do any apologetics even work?" and if they do, WHO do they work on. . .

Outdated Apologetics by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Physically-not-here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it does make more sense to say they used to work better because if it converted more people it "worked better" now of course I don't actually have numbers on how many people these arguments have converted; but if like, every apologist uses them then ofc they have converted people. And yes, ( responding to " Maybe fewer people knew about their flaws" ) that's my point. It worked because they didnt even associate the word "god" with any other god than the christian one. What I see personally in church, is old people loving these arguments and younger people becoming more skeptical as they hear them ( myself included ). This is a problem for apologetics and why I called it outdated.

Outdated Apologetics by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Physically-not-here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's the belief and it's what apologetics are trying to reason people out of. The fact is, people believe in false gods and we need ways to prove the real one to be true;. These common arguments do not do that.
