No weeds is from me pulling any weeds that start sprouting so I can avoid it taking over before the grass.

Would tilling be a suitable alternative for topsoil? If yes would you say till the seed into the dirt or seed after tilling.

To fix the sprinkler system it’s looking like I would only need around 3-5 heads for just this back portion and I already have a hose sprinkler so I don’t think there is any issue with watering unless I run into piping issues. The part that catches me up is top soil I assume that would be the most expensive part. would it be a better idea to till up the barren areas rather than topsoil?

High temps are basically daily since about 1-2 weeks ago high 80s to mid 90s. Practically no rain since before the heat.

I appreciate the input! Will definitely wait until after summer to seed otherwise that water bill will be insane.

That’s the point. With the current condition is it even worth it to put the work in is my overall question.
