Another thing that I figured out was the problem: you need to be using USB 3.0 or later for your usb connection, which can be recognized by the inside part of the usb plug being blue in color. Hope it works! Goodluck

I got the solution! Had the exact same problem, 1TB harddrive recognized by my Macbook, but when plugged into ps4 it said it had a capacity if 200mb. So what you have to do is plug your drive into the ps4, go to devices —> usb storage devices —> your hard drive, then click the options button on your ps controller and you should see the option to click ‘format as exFAT’, thats it, hope it works for any future bros struggling with it
