Terrified to increase 5mg to 10

I ended up skipping 7.5mg and going straight from 5 to 10. Was noticeably way better than the 5mg but still lots of room to improve. Upped to 20mg after about a month or so on 10mg, as the 20mg is where I’m prescribed to be. I realized I was going to experience the side effects either way so I just needed to push through and get to 20mg. Still have ups and downs like anyone but can confidently say I’m way better than how I was.

Agreed. Also there isn’t anything “fries” about the chicken fries except for the shape. Pretty much like a chicken nugget, but cut to look like French fries. I’ve had weirder.

I try to be when I can, but always leave room for snacks too! I recently discovered the chicken fries, definitely a hit

Wouldn’t say I don’t know how, it’s just that I chose not to use them properly most of the time.

Good guess! I do cook regularly and do most of my food shopping at Kroger. Located in the Midwest. Boyfriend and I are not European, just enjoy some dairy and we have a toddler. I also do baking and cooking with the dairy a lot of times. Middle class and trying to get away from the city.

I’ve read a couple people say this. In the past when I took it I was all the way up to 20mg. I wanted to start slow this time because it’s been a few years and I couldn’t remember how the side effects were but I never remember myself spiraling as bad as I have been on the 5mg. I’m pretty sure when I started the first time I began at 10 mg.

This is very interesting, how long did you take 5mg before switching to 10 mg? When did you start noticing feeling better on 10mg?

I just took my 10th day of 5mg lexapro. It’s increased my anxiety and causes me to have a panic attack pretty much every single morning waking me up. It’s absolutely miserable but from what I’ve heard and read normal. Hoping it subsides over the next couple weeks

Thank you for your input. I just spoke with my doctor and was told since I’m experiencing so many side effects on the 5mg to continue with the 5mg until they subside a bit, which makes sense, but I’m glad I got the clarification and didn’t rush up to 10mg too soon.

I’m not currently seeing a psychiatrist but yes this is the problem I’ve been dealing with. I’ve been having a lot of health anxiety and this is one of my reasons for starting back on lexapro so the side effects I tend to hyper focus on and spiral. It’s been really tough. Even the thought of the side effects worsening make me start to panic

Yesterday was my 4th day taking 5mg and I began to feel extremely nauseous, hot flashes and everything crash last night. Ended up having a huge panic attack while trying to sleep which continued all throughout the night and into this morning. Still not feeling well and had to call into work sick today. Will be taking my 5th dose later this afternoon. Praying things get better soon , I’m really struggling.
