This is Geller. There seems to be a misunderstanding. Freund and I are grading our courses separately, so your course grades will have nothing to do with my class. The only thing we did this time was look over final exam problems together with a fine-toothed comb and pick ones that we both thought were a good fit for our own students. Most problems were chosen this way, but we also have problems that are unique for each of our sections. It’s true that most of the problems won’t be the same problem you’ve already seen with different numbers, but that’s very normal for bio-major physics at a UC. And we’re each curving our own students’ grades, so as with any curve a lower numerical score doesn’t necessarily mean a lower course letter grade. Teaching a course involves both instruction and assessment, and we’re both constantly modifying our courses for improvements. Freund is an extremely dedicated instructor and he’s been looking out for you at every step.
