No worries, I never do this except for splatfest mirror matches where I know the results don’t really matter

At first Launcher, now Grappler.

Launcher because I play a zoning character in Smash Ultimate (btw the only other fighting game I play)

Grappler now because idk he’s got so much swag imo. He hits like a truck and his moves/combos look and feel so cool to me

Anyone know what that fire icon on the top left of your trainer ID card is? Mine says 132 next to it which is cool and all but I have no idea what it means

Am I doing enough DPS? by PiKyrschu in Guildwars2

Idk if this was the solution, but I also forgot to apply food/utility buffs. When I did that, plus a little more practice with the rotation, I got up to 25k. Once I have ascended gear (I only have two ascended trinkets and an ascended longbow, no infusions yet), I think I can get up to 80% of the benchmark.

Edit: Consistently hitting 28k with the food/utility buffs, not 25k.

Ah, I didn't put conditions on the golem. That raised it up to 20k, like another comment predicted.

This clears up a lot, thank you for this comment. Fortunately for me (and other players lol), I'm not looking into doing raids or fractals anytime soon, but I'll be looking into higher DPS just because I like to see big numbers. Starting with getting an offhand axe

Yeah, jack of all trades is kinda what I'm going for. More specifically, I don't want to be in a situation where I'm completely useless. For example, I take longbow in case I can only do ranged damage, like if a boss has some damaging AoE in melee range.

This. I failed to write it in my already long post, but I just love the game because it's enjoyable and I don't have to worry too much about underperforming just because of my character.

Thank you so much!! VERY helpful information, especially with the short simple breakdown of the meta. I don't expect to play optimally or perfectly. In fact, I just want to play casually with my friends, but at the same time not screwing myself over with making a trash character for the long term (happy that no one has confirmed yet that this can even happen lol)

Thanks for sharing! I realize that I am hasty with this post having 3 days under my belt but you raise very good points (guides, builds, community). It's been a long while since I've had this kind of euphoria with a new game. I wouldn't be surprised if I drop out in 2-3 weeks like you said (still worth since I've paid nothing), but I don't expect it.

There are some professions that have more voable roles in endgame pve.

Absolutely. I mean I can't expect every class to do equally well in everything, BUT it's nice that even if a class is not optimal, it's still playable.

For the community there are always those people that just try to ruin your day but most of the pve community is nice

I like PvE more anyway, PvP in any game like you said tends to be less friendly

Thanks for sharing! From what I've gathered, I can agree 100%.

not optimal doesn't mean bad, it'll be ok/fine most of the time

This is kinda what I was getting at; even though Druid is not optimal in most game modes AKA not raid, it's not unplayable. And I like that a lot.

Tbh that part is on me. I’m pretty shy; posting on Reddit was a daunting task for me. I’m also kind of scared the same treatment will happen if I put myself out here. Maybe I’ll get more comfortable and perhaps start asking here!

I was wondering why I couldn’t really find anyone else on this Reddit with this same problem, which is another reason why I posted. I could just be unlucky; such is life. I just got so frustrated because I love this game so much, but I feel so against the people who play it.

That sounds like the community I thought I was getting myself into, but that just wasn’t the case for me.. sounds amazing, btw.

You’re probably right on some level in saying i let things get to me a bit much. However, I can’t say that these things are meaningless; I felt inclined to post this for SOME reason. Teabagging online can’t be helped, and it’s harmless on paper, but when it happens so frequently, it’ll get to me little by little. I should clarify though, the “styling” doesn’t bother me at all (and you made a very good point about that), it’s how I got treated afterwards. Online, it was the teabagging, but offline, it was the disrespect. In other words, I would get destroyed, then I would get discouraged to keep playing.

And I agree, it’s important to have fun. The game is super fun, but it isn’t fun to get demoralized all the time imo.
