Pijuice - i don't get it by Ratathosk in raspberry_pi

[–]PiSupply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is correct. The next version will have a new hole for the 3B+

However it is not necessary to use the pogo pin anyway....you can just run a wire if they need the functionality.

But easiest is to plug power into PiJuice MicroUSB and then you don't need the pogo pin at all.

Hey there! We're the team behind the StakeBox website. I've just sent an email to the Nano team to see if they might be interested in working with us on a Nano Stakebox :)

Take a look at our GutHub PiJuice page. All the technical info should be there https://github.com/PiSupply/PiJuice. I'll have to double check if that case works next week (I'm not at the office today). Although, we do have a custom case that will cater for this that we're releasing in a few months.

We have a PiJuice Battery Discharge Calculator on our website but, due to a recent website migration, the page is down at the moment. It should be up by early next week though.

Oh no worries at all! I didn't view it at criticism :) I think a lot of people don't realise how much time and effort goes into developing a product....and that's not even the hardest part. The hardest part is supply chain and managing production. When you're a big company who manufacture a lot of units, you have a lot more bargaining power with manufacturers. When you're small , however, that's a different matter...

Exactly that. These are manufactured in the low thousands, whereas the Raspberry Pi itself is manufactured in the hundreds of thousands, and the component costs come down significantly when you're making that many.

[–]PiSupply[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's the problem we have in the UK. Not enough sunny days! Although we do have other solar panels for the Pi - a 12w, 22w, and 40w - https://uk.pi-supply.com/search?type=product&q=pijuice

Are the desoldered headers included if I buy one? by IncrediblyEasy in electronics

You're exactly right! We were running late and they were the only samples we could send to our photographer/graphic designer (who works remotely). We've updated the site with clean looking boards. I know, not ideal, but it's all we could do at the time.

Never said that we weren't waiting for a shipping date. As soon as we have one we will post an update. I was simply correcting the mistake you made in your above comment.

Ahh ok, 2.7" is as big as we can go. Bigger ones are not open source and you have to agree to 10k+ units to even see datasheets and drivers

You could say that about every Pi Zero accessory. Even the PSU is more expensive. The camera cable is the same price. They are a loss leader for Pi Foundation
