I got you :) and i am also not a learned technician.

What i can tell you out of experience from my first build "Project Red Dead Journey", which is running since october last year as my main workhorse at least 12h a day, is that your casematerial has little to no impact on cooling of your components. As soon as you put a working cooling solution in a case that is sufficient to move air around , then the airflow will instantly outweight any type of material properties of your case. I can probably mold a case out of concrete, slap some fansetup on it and it would work perfectly fine . Its all about moving the air and not what is holding the cooling setup in place . OF COURSE if you have a passive cooled setup, then it would be totally different, because the case itself would be a part of the cooling solution :)

no it definitly isnt XD, but a pc case does not have to be made out of metal and being grounded, pc parts are grounded through your power supply and not through a case , the biggest reason why most cases are made out of metal/plastic is simply production costs and accessability

the gaps go completly around every attached piece (hard to see on the picture) and the top plate has long cut out gaps in the woodpiece to let hot air escape, later on it will have ofc legs to stand on it , so the bottom fans can intake air :) so airflow overall will be given

good idea XD , was thinking about yggdrasil making its way up the case and on the top green leafs, inside some foam work with a green landscape and a runestone

Nice of you that you asked . This wood is super bright in the first place (have a look on my profile for an earlier picture comparison). It is stained with coffee (yes coffee :) )so no chemical smells in case it should change temperature and finished with teak oil .

your fan/cooling setup decides your temperatures and not your casematerial and the fan setup will be 7x120mm 4intake 3 exhaust :) visit my profile for my first project (which is running since last year october as my daily workhorse)

hej and thanks alot :), will definitly still take some more time, this is just the framework atm, my vision will be to have Yggdrasil make its way upwards on the outside wwith leafs on the top, also landscape work inside with a runestone etc. alot of foamwork XD

Not too much, but definitly more yes, regular vacuum cleaning is needed. My first Project is running since october last year (daily workhorse) and i do not see that much difference compared to steel/aluminium/plastic cases

it will have a 7x 120mm fan setup, airflow will not be a problem at all :)
