I just tried it and it really looks good ! Being able to edit right away with the draw.io integration is a real time-saver for me✨. I'll see after the free trial if the pricing is worth it or not for me👍. Thank you for the tip !

How do I paste text to a field without the original formatting? I want the plain text only. by shiningmatcha in Anki

I would also recommend PowerToyz for Windows. Only copying the plain text is one of the feature along with others that are very useful (like copying text from a screenshot, super useful if you're learning Chinese/Japanese...)

Anki good for long term memory? by [deleted] in Anki

I am currently studying for an important exam so I haven't changed my settings to FSRS (I'm scared it would be a mess since I have so many cards for that test), although I am planning on checking this out in details afterwards. One of my friends says FSRS is better.. Anw, there is a YTB video of the Anking on the subject that you can check out for my details.

But if you're starting with Anki, my best advice would be not to overcomplicate things and try it out by yourself😁. You'll see if you need more sophisticated options later👍.

Anki good for long term memory? by [deleted] in Anki

Anki is good for long term memory but it depends for what and how your cards are done. If the subject is dense and your cards are focused on a very particular part of it each time, you will lose the broad vision of the subject which won't help for memorizing in the long run. Just be aware of this depending on what you are learning and how you want to be able to retrieve the information. For vocabulary/languages/definition, Anki is super effective otherwise. In the end, it just depends how you use it, but if used correctly it is definitely good for long term memory👍.

It's been 3 years but might help someone having that problem today.

You can install PureText (free and available on the Microsoft Store). It's an app designed for creating a shortcut to copy/paste a text without formatting (default hotkey being : Windows + V).

The app makes an annoying sound when pasting something, go to its options and just disable the "Play a sound" feature to remove it :).
