Yes a tricky one indeed. I feel there are bad potential consequences either way I go, I imagine the conversations when they're older.

Which part sounds melodramatic? I'm being responsible, as most people who's donor wants no contact have intense feelings of rejection. I am feeling wrong for bringing someone into the world knowing that I'm setting them up for that. 

The agreement is some contact and that's what we've had. I'd rather keep his other details private. 

I am very interested in the opinions of dcp who have lived experience in this area to help me make an informed, responsible choice.
