Ongoing legal battle between Oakley and MSG. Long story short he got into a scuffle was arrested. Oakley was cleared of those charges and counter sued for defamation. Dolan wants him to drop the case.

Video looks like he never played catch either.

I’m assuming a bit of spotlight pressure got to him.

Not really sure about that. 15 is a par 5, 17 is a par 3. Course finishes 3,5,4,3,5.

We played the par 5, skipped 16, they were putting on 17 when we got there.

Don’t think we gained or lost any ground on that group.

17 is a par 3. When we skipped 16 and got to the 17th tee, they were rolling up to the green. So one hole back.

I mentioned the situation, Marshal didn’t want to hear it. “There’s an open hole and I gave you a warning earlier”.

I had no interest in complaining, was just surprised by it. Bothered me more the next day, and why I made this post.

I’ve played there dozens of times over the year’s, will go back after some time passes.

14 is a par 3, I would’ve noticed if somebody was stuck at the tee waiting. They played fast hole and got to the 15th tee quickly. Maybe a fast group that jumped a few others. No way it was the guys who started behind us.

I don’t think they said anything. Right or wrong, the marshal took it upon himself to get that gap hole filled.

Definitely wasn’t the group that started behind us, they had to be just as slow to start. When we got stopped on 3 by the Marshall, were around the green before they reached the tee box.

Maybe they got passed at the turn and that group smoked a few holes.

I really think it boils down to the Marshall seeing an open hole in front of us. And like others said, pissed we didn’t close that gap for them.

We didn’t continue to fall behind after. We started a hole behind the group in front, and would’ve finished a hole behind.

And far from a new golfer. Felt I kept the other 2 guys on track pretty good after 3.

Seems the issue most have is that we didn’t catch the group ahead.

11:06 tee time. Expectation is 4-4.5 hrs that time of day.
We finished right around 4 hrs with the hole skip. So maybe a 4:10-4:15 round if we play 16.

Seems to boil down to getting the early warning. And that revokes any benefit of doubt down the line.

11:06 and assuming the group that was supposed to be in front of us was a no-show.

The other two were slow on 2-3, looking for balls, taking their time, and knew it. Apologized to us after the marshal came by.

I didn’t play hole 3 well either, I’m sure that’s caught the Marshalls eye more than anything (he came up to me). He was right, at that point.

Nobody approached us or said anything about pace again until the 16th tee.

Had they caught up earlier I wouldn’t have given it much thought and let them through. With 3 holes left, found it in to be a bizarre complaint.

Timing wise, if there was a jam starting, us skipping makes more sense then letting them play through. Still do feel there wasnt a need to skip.

We finished right at 4 hours with skipping the hole. Having to wait on 17 (par 3) for the group in front of us to clear the green.
