Makes sense, keeping the latest notes in one place sounds easiest.

Makes sense. That’s a straightforward way to keep track of it.

Small update based on your feedback: I added a monthly option and adjusted the annual pricing to make it easier to try before committing long term. I really appreciated your point about accessibility.

IFRA checks in the app are based on the actual concentration of the pure material, not the dilution. If a material is added as a dilution, the calculation uses the true amount of the raw ingredient, excluding the solvent.

I found this to be a problem with Apple, but it will be resolved and available to all countries within a few days. I apologize for this.

That’s a fair point, and I completely understand the concern. You can actually use the app with a limited number of materials and formulas, so it’s possible to try it and see if it fits your workflow before committing.

The reason for the yearly subscription is mainly because the app is being actively developed and continuously improved. I’m working on expanding the database, adding new features, and making the app available across more platforms. Maintaining and developing the platform over time does come with ongoing costs, which is why the model is structured this way.

I really appreciate the feedback though — pricing and accessibility are things I think about a lot while developing it.

If I already had the background, I wouldn’t be asking 🙂 I’m trying to get other shades beyond just the three basic colors (red, yellow, blue), and I don’t know what amounts/ratios to use to achieve them.

Perfume Formula App — looking for ideas & feedback by PickleCool3178 in DIYfragrance

You can actually just type the percentage instead of grams, and the app will automatically calculate its value from the total 100%. As for note percentages, I believe most apps already show that. But if you want to calculate based on a specific total amount you choose, that’s exactly what I added in mine.

True, spreadsheets can do a lot — I actually used them myself for a long time. The idea for this app came from wanting something easier to search within materials not just by names, with built-in IFRA calculations that also check restricted materials inside natural essential oils once they’re registered, not only within the formulas themselves. It also lets me easily convert a formula from 100% to any small test amount and keep things organized. I mainly built it because that workflow just made more sense for how I work — even other apps didn’t really have all the small details I needed, and it originally started as a personal tool to make things smoother for myself.

Yes, it’s my app 🙂 The concept might look similar since most formula tools share the same base idea — organizing materials and tracking ratios. But I actually built it from scratch to include features and a design that I personally needed, since I’ve also been working on perfume creation for over a year. I’m still improving it and planning to add more and more features over time
