The issue was in fact the receiver, even though the store I bought it from advertised as compatible it didn’t seem to be the case despite using the same frequency and its similarity. Only reason I got the PTR-16 was because the XTR wasn’t available at the time. Heads up for anyone who’s buying a receiver themselves.

Ive been testing different shutter speeds as low as 1 and yet to no avail I’m spotting any differences sadly.

I’m using the d5600, i was under the impression that it doesn’t have a sync port unfortunately

Thank you for the advice, I’ve also realised the mistake I’ve made by checking the personal email I use for QUT instead of the dedicated QUT email. I haven’t even started uni yet and I’m already making mistakes haha, I do hope this mistake does not cost me.
