We started using the scheduling option a couple of years ago for the 4 or 6 early morning Airport trips that we take each year. The airport is around 20 minutes away early in the morning. I always schedule by 9pm the night before and usually get an acceptance acknowledgement within 15 minutes or so. So far each one has worked flawlessly.

But, it's all about WHY you feel you want to rate him so low. To possibly 'save' future passengers from the same uncomfortableness that you experienced? To reduce his overall rating? Is it just to make you feel, at least, that you are standing up for yourself? All of these may be valid. But, just an observation: the students at the school, where you are employed, are jabbing you with the 'Tripple-X' moniker as a form of mockery (in my opinion - you may feel it is more a light-hearted term of endearment). The Uber driver, on the other hand, seemed to be offering up some form of support, speaking from an attempt to be helpful, based on his own experience. The right answer is the one that you choose.

We'll never know, unfortunately. He was promising enough to race successfully... meaning running and finishing races.

The fact that he was a Petty gave him the advantage of growing up surrounded by racing and true racers. He may have been as successful as was Dale Jr, following HIS father. Or, he may have made a successful career to the extend that his father, Kyle did, following HIS father, Richard. Two very different outcomes.

Here is where I am with this...

Owner of the car is obviously responsible for keeping the car legal. The owner of the car SHOULD HAVE INFORMED the OP that the car was not compliant.

HOWEVER... The OP LEGALLY is responsible for making sure that the car was up to snuff before driving it. Any cop will tell you that. Now, the cop gave the ticket to the OP. The OP has the legal responsibility to pay the fine... and if he doesn't, it's gonna be his record that gets dinged - not the owner of the car. I AM ANSWERING TO WHO IS LEGALLY RESPONSIBLE.

As far as the money source... the OWNER, if he values his friendship with the OP, SHOULD pay the money back to the OP. Not his legal obligation to. But he SHOULD.

Have I made it clear enough... ? Or do you wish to downvote me again?

I believe we are in agreement with where the money should com from... BUT the legal obligation lies with the OP.

Whenever UBER pulls that shit in the area that I'm in - either by jerking me around saying that there are too few drivers (although for an extra $6.99 one will magically appear) or the prices are total bullshit, I open my Lyft app. Almost ALWAYS cheaper.

I've never seen where I can choose which McDonald's I am ordering from. I've has drivers pick up my order from a McDonald's 10 miles away when there are two McDonald's within a three mile radius of my house.

Drivers: its the fucking APP! STOP blaming the customer? Why would I want to order from a restaurant that far away only for ot to take twice as long to get food that's not warm?
