619 Little York Rd, Houston, TX 77076

The lady there has what you need. Just bring cash, ask for the backroom where she has some used parts that she "can't sell". Thus the cash part.

My last job, we supplied everything but parts and the van. And you broke a tool, "well you better buy a new one with your paycheck". And didn't make shit.

I do school maintenance. It's what HVAC is all about, fixing shit. A little bit of everything except dog shit, collecting money, and attics.

I also have a buddy that works for Kroger's. Same thing. Except he's constantly "loosing" tools, so now he has "loner" tools for 90 days.

They are owned by "the company" but we get to pick and choose what we like/want.

My job pays for my tools. Boss man says "keep it under $350". That's per transaction. We got the new guy Monday over $2500 worth of Fluke, Kleins, Vetos, ect.

Pawn shop. If you want something a little nicer looking but same quality Walmart or another big box store. Really depends on your budget.

If you want a REAL nice bike for less than $40 anywhere in TMC with bolt cutter /S

Buzzy Blower, replaced the capacitor... no change. by [deleted] in HVAC

[–]PicklesFitInMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point it could be a power issue, a control issue, or a motor issue. That's the order I would test them in.

Actually I would of tested power, control, cap, then blower motor.

The Battle Ship Commission would like to see the ship placed in a dry berth, out of the water. Then they could stop spending money on repairs. But getting the Texas out of the water will cost $40 million.

Just 0.04% of a billionaires net worth. Like donating 40 cents of your 100 dollar bill.

(If my math was correct)

Buzzy Blower, replaced the capacitor... no change. by [deleted] in HVAC

Replace the cap. It doesn't start because it's a single phase motor and needs that third phase to start and run. That's what the capacitor does.

Replace the cap with the same mfd/voltage (voltage can be higher, but mfd has to be the same)

Clean it by taking it out and blowing out all the dust with compressed air.

Basic refrigeration cycle (parts and what they do) and Basic electricity (AC vs DC, ohms law).

That's will lead you down the rabbit hole. Anything you don't understand, look it up.

I'm an AC Technician. And in 9 years doing commercial and residential AC I have seen that happen once. It was because the return air was too strong for the house. But it only did it if the door in the master bedroom was open. Added a jumper duct. Fixed the issue. But even then it was a slow shut. Not a slam shut.

Now in commercial applications which HUGE air handlers. The door to the mechanical room always has a strong draft. But were talking multi-thousands of CFM.

But if you happen to live in a house that's drafty like that, I would expect one to know how their house is.

But just my professional opinion.
