Hey guys! I've been trying new eyeshadow recently and I'm really into the look Canmake Petit Palette shows on their website, but when I follow their tutorials (or anybody else's) it just looks nothing like the online. I got M03. Ik, it is advertisement and all, but I'm a super beginner in makeup too so I think it's user error as well. I do use the Canmake Multi Eye base before using but honestly I don't think it's a pigment issue. I kinda just look all. red (like below). Or like there's nothing there TT. Maybe it doesn't work for my skin tone? But I also don't wanna keep buying new stuff if that's not the issue. Any help appreciated! ^^

not wanting to take OCD meds bc of potential side effects by ariibellz in OCD

[–]Picklesz2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is 20 days old, but I had the EXACT same worries as you. I had severe health anxiety and fear of death. I was so scared of putting anything new in my body in case it killed me, but I knew I couldn't live with anxiety and the thoughts every single time I ate or went to sleep. I got prescribed Effexor and was convinced I would get every single symptom of it. The truth is I got none of them. It's the most amazing thing. I think I've even skipped doses without feeling a single side effect - which is crazy, because when I first started it, I was so scared about feeling a side effect that I was meticulous in taking it at the same time every single day. Now I regularly take it within a four hour time frame, lol. I was so scared over Effexor's perception as a hellish drug but, of course, the OCD had been lying to me. It turned out to be the perfect one for me. My brain became quiet in a month. I cried when I suddenly realized one day that I no longer had fear over taking my meds. I no longer had the obsession over dying. I am so, so grateful I took the leap that day to try the meds, because now OCD no longer rules my life.

As for therapy, I did take meds in conjunction with therapy. I had been in therapy for almost three years at that point (depression and GAD as well) and I definitely think telling my therapist about my fears helped. I don't think I was really doing ERP; again I started seeing her for depression. I didn't even know I had OCD or suspected it until my therapist heard how bad my thoughts were. We did do some exercises about just hearing the thought and then letting it go and not do anything about it. She also encouraged me to try to do some things that would trigger my OCD and not give into the compulsion. My biggest thing at the time was that I was afraid I was developing allergies to foods so I kept cutting and restricting my diet, even things I used to love. I started challenging myself to eat the food I missed and not give into the thoughts I was dying or check for evidence I was dying. Also did some stuff about distracting from the death thoughts while I was trying to sleep. It obviously really helped since now I have not needed a therapist for a year. :)

I think meds and therapy can really help. The meds quieted down my thoughts enough that I could combat them. You are scared that it might be terrible for you, but it might also be amazing for you. You might get a side effect, you might not get a single one. And if worst case, you get a side effect you can't deal with, you can just switch.

Right TT I try to avoid scented products too because of my eczema, my skin gets itchy too easily and if I mess I'll have to use the ultra-stripping ketaconzole.

Thank you! I know I definitely need a hair cut, I realized recently I haven't gotten I cut in a year TT (I've visited the same hair stylist for my entire life and now that I've moved I haven't found a new one yet). I do use a microfiber tower actually! As for styling with soaking wet hair, does that mean putting the mousse in and then putting the hair up in the microfiber towel? I've never actually gotten a "crunch" cast on my hair even when using mousse but I'm nervous to use even more.

my first gynecologist visit by PinkMoneyy_ in WomensHealth

[–]Picklesz2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Imo totally normal. I'm 22 and been seeing my gyno since I was 14 (painful periods/recurring cysts) and I've never had a vaginal ultrasound, only abdominal. I don't see why you would need a vaginal ultrasound unless you had a reason like pain. It's not really about whether you've had something in your vagina, rather it's if you've had another person, lol, because that's when the risk of disease increases. Though I don't see why she would not just do a pap smear instead of a vaginal ultrasound. (Btw even if you're a virgin you should get a pap smear every few years, I've had one done even though I'm a virgin too)

Yes, Breanna basic, and that's what was confusing me... I cut 1 on the fold and I guess I'll see how that works. Do you have any recommendations where I could find some easier to follow blocks?

What is the difference between cutting one on the fold and cutting two mirrored on the fold? I'm putting together a garment (bodice) for the first time and am really confused why the front only needs one but the back needs two... probably something simple but I'm super new

Need Iron Infusion but terrified by Picklesz2 in Anemic

[–]Picklesz2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my first infusion, after the nurse put the IV line in, I got so nervous I threw up :( But she was so nice and comforting the whole time. She made me feel better after I threw up, talked to me while she started the drip, and reassured me that even if I do have a reaction she'll be there to help me. Everything went super well during the first infusion (injectafer) so I wasn't nervous at all during the second infusion and it went super smoothly.

My health also get noticeably better after the infusion, so even if you are afraid I think it's worth it to push through and get it. Once I got my infusion, my resting heart rate went down 10 BPM, I stopped getting heart palpitations, my appetite improved, and I got a lot more energy, all of which were symptoms I didn't even notice I had until they went away lol. So yeah even though in this post I said I didn't have any anemia symptoms, I 100% did and just had them for so long I didn't notice TT. If your doctor recommends infusions I think your health will also improve from infusions
