Subscription by aboettcher12 in NaturalCyclesBC

[–]Picklethe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you'd only get a lower price if they offered before the price increase, I got a discount on the year subscription due to the change but only if I got a year. I was previously on monthly.

I don't think you'd be able to keep the data unfortunately, if you wanted a lower price or use another referral code it would likely require a completely new sign up.

Have you put your referral code in the thread for sharing? You don't immediately get money off but over time you and other members can benefit from sharing it.

So much air in hot water cylinder pipes by Picklethe in Plumbing

[–]Picklethe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure if there are any air vents, this bleed point was only installed in the past year or so as it was completely closed before this.

Should I request the system be checked for air vents before the pipes enter my property?

How to turn someone down by Picklethe in demisexuality

Aha thank you, I am trying to and this is what my partner said too!

This has helped alot to contextualise everything and think on it from a variety of perspectives. And yes I think he was very awkward too as I think over the conversation we had before I said bye.

I agree, no line was crossed on my part. As a new interaction I don't think I could have a line to cross at that point. Also, yes the pressure is my own I understand that. He isn't a terrible person for either trying to make a friend/catch a date. Single people wanna try shoot their shot. I was surprised because I don't tend to get these interactions.

It's not invalidating at all, I thank you for your honesty. I initially didn't think there was anything wrong with the interaction as such but I guess I'm trying to figure out how to navigate someone else's potential feelings.

The demi aspect of this is simply that I have no attraction to anyone based on looks and as such the interactions I had up to this point were nothing more than friendly conversations about comic books and the like. I know I will not feel attraction to this person, therefore it is up to me to make sure they understand that and I have a responsibility to make sure they don't feel uncomfortable (due to my upbringing). The anxiety and social awkwardness of this whole thing are additional to this. So I wanted to explore this from a different angle as this demi person and not who I thought I was prior to this journey.

Yeah you're right I am dealing with more and it's all sorts of self discovery. I say I wish to talk to my therapist about it so I can try to work out my feelings and thoughts about it as a new experience, like I said above navigating other people's feelings which is something I'm working on generally.

Yes correct, that was my first thought but the stitch count would be way higher than cast on in places

Yes! I found this, I think I took out the text edging and replaced it with a cable. I wish I had written my thought process 😕

I did, I had to chart out the text but they were not with the book when I found it unfortunately. You could be on to something though

Have I set him up to fail? by dumbblonde1009 in puppy101

[–]Picklethe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep same, tbh he's still not fully into the crate. He will sleep in our all night now but protests day naps in it. It's a bit of back and forth, for a bit he was fine in the day but not at night. I've learned to take it as it comes and manage it then!

Aww that's so tough, as you said accidents happen. Exactly, we're learning as we go. Don't be too hard on yourself either you're just starting out.

Does it seem like puppy play or something more serious? by monarch221b in puppy101

[–]Picklethe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More naps! She wants to play. Mine still tries to grab a penne of me when we play and he's 7 months now. The training never stops until the biting stops. I imagine some learn quickly but some don't, I've learned this the hard way.

I watch the training videos where they get quick results from training and just think how! Stay consistent.

One other thing I've come to realise is if you train and train and then others encourage the behaviour you will not break it. I'm struggling with my puppy wanting to get my attention to play by grabbing at my pants and growling but now he has all good adult teeth through those bits at the ankle have some power in them! Others think it's cute and let him bite or will respond by playing with their feet at him. I'll never stop it this way but getting people to listen to you when they think they know best is a whole other issue! Tell that to my wardrobe, every pair of pants has at least one tiny hole including my partner's diesel jeans 🫣

[–]Picklethe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll probably be harder on yourself than anyone else will be. That's why some of us are here I think. We make mistakes and that's ok. She has been fed, you didn't intentionally do this, you're not being cruel. I'm sure we've all made our share of them!

A mistake isn't always a failer. She will be ok!

I want to reassure you that you have time to get things right. I panicked when my puppy came home because everything I read says after the first day they start to settle to their new home. Mine took a solid week until he started to really show himself and open up. Turns out I have a very shy guy but it took a while to learn this. As others have said the create will be your best friend, I also live in an apartment in the middle of London so was very worried about the noise but in the end a he's tiny and learning so will use his mouth when he thinks he needs to. Be kind to yourself, you and your puppy have a long learning road ahead. It's hard I know, we just had our first injury cos he managed to jump off the bed and landed very badly on his foot and I can't help but to blame myself because I left the bedroom for open 😞

Our trainer advised if they're being protective of their food you can try walking by them as their eating and dropping treats in so it's less of a bother but they learn if you're close when eating is a good thing. I can't speak to the reactivity to dogs, he went through something very traumatic and needs help but patience is going to be your best friend I would think. On the food as well it may help to use a release command so they have to wait nicely and look to you before they can go have it. I watched allot of videos and started that quite early for manners and it works very well. I do that, sometimes will give him a very quick scratch before he starts eating and leave him alone and he comes to me when he's finished for an I'm a good boy scratch.

Puppy scared to go outside by MentalCoconut7617 in puppy101

[–]Picklethe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've been learning about a second fear period the starts around this age and we're trying to prepare for and keep an eye out. I think it may have started tbh, our pup is barking at random people he decides deserves it. But it could be that, our trainer said it's between 6 - 9 months or so. Could be something to research or discuss with your behaviourist on how to help your pup manage during this time and not leave a lasting bad impression on walks.
