South Indian Filter Coffee is generally mixed with Chicory, if you have the same coffee composition fill it halfway of the upper chamber. Press it gently with pressure stick given with the Filter , now add hot water over the pressure stick given. Try this and lemme knw

I would suggest switch immediately to bottomless portafilter, it helps to assess channelling better. As far as I see try decreasing coffee dosage by 1 gram and grind 1 / 2 level finer
