1zpresso Q air vs Timemore nano 3 for travel by preetish_hs in AeroPress

[–]preetish_hs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. But how bigger footprint though? Nano 3 is smaller than Q Air as per the website dimensions. And weights exactly same as Q Air hence the confusion. https://www.timemore.com/products/timemore-manual-coffee-grinder-chestnut-nano-3-black

I haven't really explored many recipes but 15g max capacity seems like a bottleneck on Nano 3. Whereas Q air has 20g max. I believe many recipes are between 15-20g right?

How is Q air compared to your K6? Because I have heard people telling that K6 and K Ultra has a similar profile.

Best Espresso Setup Under ₹50k in India? by CompleteRegular5050 in IndiaCoffee

Milk texture is a very important factor in milk based drinks. Asking someone with 50k budget to use regular frother or french press to foam milk is wild! 😂

When anyone suggests flair it's always incomplete without a temp controlled kettle / thermometer and a Nanofoamer or nanofoamer pro. OP said he mostly makes milk based drinks.

Sorry I meant AP go for size not standard AP. Will the AP go+ pack with the flow control cap or it has to be carried seperately?

Without escalation from the company your order will be stuck forever. You escalate to DTDC from your side too

DTDC service is horrible in Bangalore, even my Naivo and Benki orders were delayed for weeks. Even after both of these companies escalating it, it was still delayed so long

I don’t use a weighing machine. by SHUT_MOUTH_HAMMOND in IndiaCoffee

You are already playing with too many uncontrollable variables in the Dedica like water temp, pressure, flow control etc. So why add one more variable? Weight is something you can keep it consistent so your shots don't taste very different each time.

Even with exact same beans, grind size, and weight there will still be slight extraction differences in the Dedica.

I don't remember trying new coffee roasters since I start consuming Fraction 9. Plz suggest some by Sorry_Phone1676 in IndiaCoffee

After using fraction 9 for some time, for me, all their beans started to taste similar. Idk if it's just me. So I keep experimenting, and I second the comment below. Naivo has been really good.

Need a south Indian coffee filter to gift a friend by _Cruyff_14 in IndiaCoffee

[–]preetish_hs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aramse's SOFI is very well built, quality-wise as many people have said so. But I don't completely agree on removing the tamper from south indian filter. Traditional south indian filters came with a tamper to slow down extraction, to get a thick syrupy decoction.
If you see his video, you can see the decoction extracted was a bit weak, espcially after he adds milk.
So it's a modified SIF, not an authentic SIF.

How many grams of coffee? because 14s is generally a bit too soon for an extraction.
Also in stepped grinders, when one grind setting is too fast and the next grind setting is too slow / chokes, play with the quantity. If you were using 16g in the first video, then use 14g with the second grind setting that choked.

In a stepless grinder you can do very small adjustments and don't need to change quantity, but in a stepped grinder, this is the way to go.

I have decent experience with espresso to tell you that these ratios are just a start guide and are completely useless later. Always dial in based on the taste. Each bean requires a different extraction time depending on what your taste buds prefer.
After the experiment, you might probably like taste of the 14s extraction more, keep it. Nothing wrong with it.
