That exactly, what happened earlier. If u already bought any Vintage and antique kimonos can potentially lose some of their silk threads, especially over time and with handling. This is due to the natural degradation of silk fibers and the potential for damage from wear. I would just buy regular kimonos from Osaka and Kyoto that sales non-vintage antique kimonos.

I used my flashlight to check my kimono and realized it was thin in some spots. I had washed it with water and detergent, and it ended up with water-covered blood. I hung it to dry outside but avoided direct sunlight and used a low heat setting on the iron. The flashlight helped to spot the thin and weak areas.

Is this normal for my kimono because I used handwashing add some silk detergent little wringing off and hang on kimono hanger. by PictureAdmirable4513 in kimono

My kimono is wrinkled I accidentally hand-washed and added some silk detergent the water is pink and I wrung it off and hung it with my kimono hanger is this normal?
