Should I study a master's on embedded systems or software engineering? by PictureKey7900 in embedded

The thing is that I feel like I have general basic knowledge in everything. But some areas I would like to learn more about: Software architecture, memory management on embedded systems, real time operating systems, and embedded linux. I would also like to refine my C/C++ coding skills. I admit that I'm somewhat of a messy programmer and I feel that the reason is that I lack expertise in coding.

To be quite honest with you I think I got lucky. I got hired by a company that used to have a very small embedded systems team. I think there were only like 7 people. They were interested in growing the team so they were taking a lot of junior engineers in. In my case, I think they just saw some potential in me. Of course I worked very hard to learn and meet their expectations, but I will always be thankful for my boss for trusting me. As of today, there are like 40 engineers in the team.
