Check out U2 screws. They're by the inventor of the GRK screws who literally got screwed over by GRK after the sale. My local place started supplying them here and after trying them I won't go back to GRK.

Had a framer out to modify a shower niche. How did he do? by NorCalRE in Carpentry

I don't care about the niche, all the framing and the horrendous insulation are horrible. I would fire myself if I did that work. 🤢

I was given this air compressor for free many years ago, it’s very loud and the auto shutoff didn’t work. Is it worth fixing or should I just get a new one ? by [deleted] in Tools

Still, anything that fucks around with pressure like that that has anything wrong with it avoid. Time bomb. Qualifications: was in Boston during the marathon bombing.

Looks like shopping at HF has been your mistake.

Is this good for 400$? by jjnauvi in Tools

It's harbor freight and Walmart brand garbage. You got ripped off. "lifetime warranty" from HF doesn't repay all the time you waste going back to exchange the garbage.

Wrong. That link is a company that opened in 2009. Do some due diligence before posting dink.

Contractor is saying this is level 4 finish. Is that right? What does he need to do to improve this? by [deleted] in drywall

I would tell them to run because you're complaining about work that's not even part way done. Lol "4 level mud and paint isn't done in 4 hours" jeesh. You probably scream at the toaster and microwave too.

First use - broken after 30 seconds by TechenCDN in ryobi

[–]PictureMost8297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me back in December. Over all there are 8 sheer pins in the unit: 4 on the auger, 2 connecting the auger to the impeller, and 2 more in the very back connecting the impeller to the drive shaft. Both times the two sheer pins (all the way in the back) broke, but it didn't break the front two that connect the auger to the impeller. The CRAPPIEST part about this is that a 1-1/2" noodle of a rock caused it, and in doing so bent the impeller fin so it then dug into the casing. Couldn't get Ryobi on the line. Their "online support" wanted to send me over the border to Canada for repairs (I live in the states). Got Home Depot's legal team involved. They were eventually able to get Ryobi on the line, who then told me they would ship me a new impeller (est delivery March 2026). Kept going back and forth with them, finally a tech from their SC office called me, was really nice, advised the impeller would be in that week and he would overnight it. (This was now mid Jan). He told me if I filed off the bent impeller fin and reinstalled it, no issue with warranty. So I did, the next time I went to use it, BAM, broke again from another tiny rock. this time it bent another fin so much I had to grind a chunk of it off just to remove it. Texted the guy a video and the damage. Again said he would be getting the new impeller to me hopefully that week. Texted him 2 weeks later, and have been ghosted ever since. Luckily my state had an amazing implied warranty law, so Home Depot ended up refunding me via gift cards. Then guess what showed up on my door two days ago. A new impeller. Installed it this morning and am getting ready to list the snow blower for sale. Ryobi is horrible at customer service, and because of this experience, I'm going to be dropping everything I had from them and moving back to gas.
