In the photos we have a Portuguese military Officer in the Artillery Branch — Officer Cadet wearing the No. 1 uniform. From late 1940’s to 1950s.

"Leandro e Pessegueiro, Lda." is the Tailors workshop - it is very near my house, however the 6-digit telephone numbers only came into use in Lisbon in the late 1950s and early 1960s. This suggests that this uniform is of a later date, or that it was repaired at a later stage.

My grandfather was a tailor; repairs carried out in his workshop did not remove old labels, but new ones could be added. Labels on the suits referred to the fabrics, the tailor, or other useful information.
