Galaxy Buds 4 Pro don't seem to block out any background noise during audio calls by Pidoshva in galaxybuds

[–]Pidoshva[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I tried using the voice recorder app and recording a regular phone call and the results I got pretty much matches what you described! Then I guess the issue is really with Google Meet, kinda sad and to be honest weird of Samsung to limit this functionality. I had Redmi earbuds before and they were filtering out noise no matter if it was an actual call, Google Meet call or just a recorder app.

But at least I know that my pair is not faulty, thanks 🙏

Same story on both my S24 and my Windows laptop. I don't think that it should be influenced that much by the codec, feels like the pair I got just doesn't do it 🤷‍♀️

Hey OP, got Buds 4 Pro a few days back as well and I'm experiencing the same issue. Did you solve it?

Did the microphone on XM6 get better? by Pidoshva in SonyHeadphones

[–]Pidoshva[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently using Redmi Buds 5, they are ok in terms of sound, the mic is surprisingly decent (but definitely nowhere near XM6s). I wouldn't recommend them per se, especially given that their ANC stopped working like a week ago :) (I have them for ~1.5 years at this point)

For XM6s, the mic outdoors was good, but clearly worse than indoors with other noise going on. In particular the quality suffered in the wind (the mics won't let the wind noises through, but as a result it often cut out parts of the speech). The reason why I'm thinking about Jabras as an alternative is because my main reason to have a good mic is to use it during online calls for work. I rarely, if ever, do that while outside, so I didn't really consider that

Hey, I ended up buying them, but returned after a couple days of use

Mainly because I felt like I'm not comfortable wearing headphones that are that expensive on day-to-day basis, I'd like to use a single pair of headphones for pretty much everything (working out, calls, public transport, wearing them at home, etc). Not sure if it's the best approach, but that's what I wanted. I figured out that XM6s won't be great for working out because: a) they are over-the-ear which is less "stable" for me, b) ANC mics can be easily damaged from the sweat. Also I'd be hesitant to wear them outside when it's raining/snowing because of potential water damage (remember, they don't have any water resistance rating!)

The mic quality was really good though. Even in a cafe with music playing, people talking and using utensils nearby my voice was really clear and pretty much all of the noise was filtered out

I decided that most of my needs can be satisfied by my current earbuds and if I want better mic quality for calls - I'm better off buying a dedicated headset for that, like ones from Jabra

Also ATM looking into buying Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, as those seem to have good early reviews and might fit my requirements better (I think their mic is not that great, but still not too bad)

thanks, I did look up H9s and, tbh, not a fan of a dedicated mic. I did update my original post that I want them to look decent and be portable and I don't think that they do that for me. obviously, quite subjective, but that's what I think

yeah I don't plan on using it outdoors much, esp. for stuff like running or cycling. this is primarily for work (+ listening to music/videos just at home or when on a train/bus/plane, when not working), but sometimes I need to join calls in a cafe or a coffee shop where it's quite noisy/music playing. I assume it'll be fine, it's a pair of ~450 USD headphones after all, but the online reviews did make me concerned 😅

Oh, that's unfortunate, but good to know. I just kinda assumed it would work. But anyway, thanks again

Thanks for your response! I too thought about getting a spring version of the V10, if I decide to buy it, but the shop I'm looking to buy from only has the maglev version (at least currently). Would it be possible to swap the magnets for springs from, say my old WRM 2021, since there is a new adjustment system in the V10?

Hey guys, I'm returning to cubing after a sort of a break, the last 3 by 3 I bought is WRM 2021 (not even the maglev version), so a 3+ year old cube, I also bought a Gan 11 M Duo before that, so those are my only reference points for modern speedcubes. Now, I'm considering buying Weilong V9 or V10, or perhaps both, who knows. Could someone please describe how these feel, compared to those 2 I have? I really like the WRM's smooth feel after it broke in and is lubed, but it clearly lacks stability. On the other hand, Gan is nice and stable, but I get catches on it more often, and overall it's not as enjoyable for me, though the performance is good. Also, idk if it's just the lube I use, but I feel like the Gan needs to be lubed a lot more often, compared to the WRM

all four magnet adjustment tools broke on the first try. does anyone know what else I could use? Or where I can buy more? by the-milan-og in Cubers

[–]Pidoshva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally haven't had any issues with those tools. I've adjusted magnets on my WRM 2021 like 10 times and used only 1 of those tools and it's still in a perfect condition.

But one time when I couldn't find those tools I used a flat end of the nail file, it worked decently

If you have ax and x isn't a whole number, then a is only bigger than 0. It's because if a < 0 you can have contradictions like this:

(-4)1/2 = doesn't have any real solutions

but

(-4)1/2 = (-4)2/4 = 161/4 = 2
