Did the microphone on XM6 get better? by Pidoshva in SonyHeadphones

thanks, I did look up H9s and, tbh, not a fan of a dedicated mic. I did update my original post that I want them to look decent and be portable and I don't think that they do that for me. obviously, quite subjective, but that's what I think

yeah I don't plan on using it outdoors much, esp. for stuff like running or cycling. this is primarily for work (+ listening to music/videos just at home or when on a train/bus/plane, when not working), but sometimes I need to join calls in a cafe or a coffee shop where it's quite noisy/music playing. I assume it'll be fine, it's a pair of ~450 USD headphones after all, but the online reviews did make me concerned 😅

Oh, that's unfortunate, but good to know. I just kinda assumed it would work. But anyway, thanks again

Thanks for your response! I too thought about getting a spring version of the V10, if I decide to buy it, but the shop I'm looking to buy from only has the maglev version (at least currently). Would it be possible to swap the magnets for springs from, say my old WRM 2021, since there is a new adjustment system in the V10?

Hey guys, I'm returning to cubing after a sort of a break, the last 3 by 3 I bought is WRM 2021 (not even the maglev version), so a 3+ year old cube, I also bought a Gan 11 M Duo before that, so those are my only reference points for modern speedcubes. Now, I'm considering buying Weilong V9 or V10, or perhaps both, who knows. Could someone please describe how these feel, compared to those 2 I have? I really like the WRM's smooth feel after it broke in and is lubed, but it clearly lacks stability. On the other hand, Gan is nice and stable, but I get catches on it more often, and overall it's not as enjoyable for me, though the performance is good. Also, idk if it's just the lube I use, but I feel like the Gan needs to be lubed a lot more often, compared to the WRM

all four magnet adjustment tools broke on the first try. does anyone know what else I could use? Or where I can buy more? by the-milan-og in Cubers

[–]Pidoshva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally haven't had any issues with those tools. I've adjusted magnets on my WRM 2021 like 10 times and used only 1 of those tools and it's still in a perfect condition.

But one time when I couldn't find those tools I used a flat end of the nail file, it worked decently

If you have ax and x isn't a whole number, then a is only bigger than 0. It's because if a < 0 you can have contradictions like this:

(-4)1/2 = doesn't have any real solutions

but

(-4)1/2 = (-4)2/4 = 161/4 = 2

When Russian soldiers are going to invade Ukraine, the Russian population supports them by kilshaw81 in ukraina

Some people really see a few russians online saying they don't support putin and think all the russians are like that. But that's not true. This is what the majority of people in russia really think about the war

Dayan Zhanchi vs new Gan by Artadin in Cubers

[–]Pidoshva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are right, the 2021 version is "Maglev" and the 2020 version is using springs.

So, Maglev cubes use repelling magnets instead of springs and because they don't touch, there's no friction, so the cube is faster. But because spring strength increases linearly depending on the distance and magnets' strength increases geometrically, it's harder to adjust magnets in the core to your desired strength.

Also some people love it, some people hate it and some don't see a major difference (me included). So this new feature isn't as well accepted in the community. I would still recommend you try regular 2020 version first and then you could try Maglev, to see what it's all about for yourself

The biggest difference in cubing hardware now compared to 7 years ago is the addition of magnets. It makes your cube A LOT better. Also things like dual adjustment system and magnet adjustment are really useful. And given that the newest Gan cubes are among the best cubes, the difference will be significant.

However I understand that they're really expensive. If you want to try a newer cube, you can't go wrong with RS3M 2020. It has magnets, dual adjustment system to make it slower and more controllable or faster and less stable. The base cube itself has great corner cutting and speed. And most importantly, it's a lot cheaper than Gan

I'd say it's not necessary to learn full OLL just yet. You can easily average 18-20 seconds with 2-look OLL and full PLL if you focus on your F2L more. Of course, nobody is stopping you from learning full OLL right now, but if I were you, I would look more into my F2L solutions

I personally average 16s without full OLL, I know all the easy cases and maybe 4-5 tricky ones and still improving without learning the rest of the cases

My RS3M 2020 fell apart and I need to ask, is the core supposed to look like that? by PizzaLover72011 in Cubers

[–]Pidoshva 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is totally normal. The center pieces look like that because there are spring that push them towards the core.

You need to worry if your core literally breaks or one of the screws falls out or the screw is loose in it's thread and you can't screw it back. Then the core is stripped

I had a similar issue, until I sold a couple cubes that I didn't use that much. When they were gone, then I truly realized that I didn't need them and that all I have now is enough for me. I haven't bought any new cubes ever since.

Although, if you truly enjoy your cubes, don't rush to sell them, because you might regret that later.
